MGCC Rockingham 23/05/04
Many thanks to the MGCC (and the drivers) for a cracking meeting today. 8 practice sessions & races, many delays, 1/2 hr lunch break, and all done for well before 6.
(Before anyone asks, no pork pies were munched on our side of the fence at turn one, dread to think how bad it could have been if there had've been! Thanks to the circuit crews for dealing with our incidents so effeciently) Seriously, thanks very much all involved. Al. |

Have to agree with Alan - fantastic day! Racing was fantastic - the Total Butler race was sooooooooo exciting - Nigel Petch was simply stunning snatching the race win yards before the line - hope he does a few more rounds this year if that's the action he brings with him!!! Rest of the racing was just as exciting! Roll on the next round I can do!

I will echo the same sentiments above, and add a thank you for the can of pop in the afternoon. It was much appreciated considering the weather.

I was only there to watch I'm afraid.... the racing looked superb...
The chap in the spitfire race who went backwards into the wall was enquiring whether anyone kept his conrod that was the cause of all that ? He seems to think it was actually picked up from the track ? Anyway... made me appreciate the job you chaps do... The marshalling was certainly better than what we saw at Monaco. |

Yup, thanks all. Especially the marshall that helped me hook my exhaust back on at the end of our practice session so I could get back to the paddock. It's much more firmly attached now!
Really enjoyed my day. Now I just have to wait until July for the next one |

Yes folks, yet another excellent and successful Race Day.
Many thanks from all at MG Car Club HQ for a job very well done and with great professionalism. Some other events this weekend have proved that the U.K Marshals are still the 'Worlds Best'. The fact that we had a full day's racing without any cut backs is down to you the Marshals and the Rockingham Circuit staff for not only the speed of the way you dealt with everything that was put in front of you, but the most capable way that you handled every situation. And there certainly were a great number of incidents. Also a big thankyou to all the Competitors for supporting our Club in great numbers and with such good spirit, and putting on such a brilliant display of good old fashioned racing. Once again grateful thanks, and I hope that many of you will be able to join us at our next meeting which is on Saturday July 3rd. at Oulton Park. I look forward to hearing from you soon, Kind regards, John Watson - Chief Marshal MG Car Club |

Well done! I decided that the positioning of the cones was incorrect on the exit of the final corner that led back onto the oval. It was far better if one was postioned at the 300m board for the hairpin. I hope you don't mind that I moved it there. Actually I was forced into it while lapping somone who didn't notice me.
