CSCC Anglesey

First post here - hello!

Making my CSCC debut in the Future Classics at Anglesey next weekend. Having spent 2 seasons Caterham racing with SEMSEC I've now got my Dino 308GT4 almost race ready. I suspect a lot of the FC grid will be rather quicker but I'll be having fun, I hope!

Anyone here heading to North Wales?

Welcome David,

I've never been to Angelsey but I'm told it's a great circuit.

Anglesey is a great circuit, one of my favourites, and I am disappointed that the CSCC "Tin Tops" series isn't getting to race there. I hope that the 308 goes well. A fibreglass 308 GTB entered the FC race at Snetterton so maybe he will be out to play with in the same class.

Yep, will be there too in the S/S, sadly not quite the grid we had at Snetterton but hey ho. The Anglesey circuit is great fun with something for everyone.

Do come and say hello

Hi David & All,
I am also a first time poster and heading to Anglesey to debut with my son in his Escort Mexico in the Swinging Sixties (no 41).
I've heard great things about the new circuit and the weather looks promising, so should be a great weekend.
Look forward to meeting you all.

Its not great Peter its stunning . I ran there last year with the Jag but this year i'm taking the MGB to run in the Equipe race . Weather forcast even looks good .On a clear day as you come to the top of the corkscrew you just have to slow down to admire the view.

On a nice day you can see the Snowdonia mountains in the background or well out to the Irish Sea and the Welsh coast.

However, being coastal and right on the edge of the Irish sea means the weather can change very quickly!

Looking forward to meeting you all - circuit sounds great. I'm planning to get there Sat. p.m. and unload. Is there a nearby meeting place/watering hole? Last time I raced there (admittedly a few years back) getting fed in the evening wasn't the easiest...

The Mexico is as near to standard as possible, as we want to get FIA HTP and the main reason for choosing a Mexico was to hopefully provide a reliable car for my son Daniel to learn racecraft, so we won't be the quickest car out there, but will be having great fun.
Sorry about stealing your number, I really wanted 44, as that's been my race no for years in my XJS and A35, but you can't have everything.

The circuit bar does food - I've never eaten there so I'm not sure about the quality. There are several good restaurants in Rhosneigr. The chippy in Rhosneigr is said to be very good, but it closes fairly early.

Thanks, Peter, I hope to. The Mexico was chosen by my son as he fell in love with Mk1 Escorts at the Spa Six Hour Meet.

I bought the car off ebay as an unfinished restoration project and did a couple of Top Hat / Masters races last year and Barry's race at Spa. We have now replaced the engine and box and hope to have some reliable fun this year.

Be careful of the circuit burger wagon. Last year the wait to be served was massive, the circuit bar/ cafe wasn't open during the meeting and the food quality was rank.

Food why did you not tell me. Yes the fish and chip shop is fantastic the Bar is fine for beer and basic food.We have a Vauxhall Lotus in the workshop at the moment he is on his way to the Anglesey. Very envious but at least i'm off to another great circuit Cadwell Park at the weekend.

Anyone get any pics of the S/S's practice on Sunday Morn? My car only lasted that long......
Well done all round, good event , helped by fantastic weather, even if entry's in some classes were a bit thin. Nice to meet all you other 10/tenther's again.

What a day, great race and dry and sunny all day for once

My race was busy from start to finish, qualified 4th, 3rd by the end of the first lap, I even overtook John Muirheads winning 7 for 2nd at one point...didn't last long, but it was nice all the same
Battling with and E Type and an Elan 26R all race, ended up with a lapped E Type holding me up by 5 seconds allowing the 26R to catch me and get past while I was off line finally getting past the E.. All good fun though, ending with a 1st in class and 4th overall

Nice to meet Wayne and see the Mexico finish, sorry about the 128 not getting into the race though...

I've not seen any pics yet, but Norwich Photo list it as an event they're covering.
