Have a nice day ;-)

Here's the post:
Brazilian GP picked as the random GP to have a Starting Order Reversed!

As FIA decided at their February meeting, the starting order of one random Grand Prix will be reversed to make the race more interesting. Brazilian GP was chosen and therefore Tarso Marques gets a chance to start from the pole position.

The F1 teams and drivers were against the new rule, and of course, the top teams were furious after FIA's announcement. Sauber boss Peter Sauber already announced that their cars won't start to the race to boycott the rule. They had excellent qualifying, Heidfeld 9th and Raikkonen 10th, but they think that their hard work was worth of nothing.

Ferrari and McLaren accept the decision, but the fastest man of the qualifying session, Michael Schumacher, refused to give any comments. Minardi, Prost, Benetton and Arrows were happy after the announcement, but think that they don't have any chances to score any points since the top teams will soon overtake him.

Here is the starting order for the race on 1st April:

1 Marques Minardi
2 Mazzacane Prost
3 Button Benetton
4 Alonso Minardi
5 Fisichella Benetton
6 Verstappen Arrows
7 Bernoldi Arrows
8 Alesi Prost
9 Burti Jaguar
10 Irvine Jaguar
11 Villeneuve BAR
12 Panis BAR
13 Raikkonen Sauber
14 Heidfeld Sauber
15 Frentzen Jordan
16 Trulli Jordan
17 Barrichello Ferrari
18 Coulthard McLaren
19 Montoya Williams
20 Hakkinen McLaren
21 Schumacher R Williams
22 Schumacher M Ferrari

This is weird despite it being an April fool!

I had been considering something similar myself recently!

I was trying to think how it could work and think that the best way would be as follows:

The grid is formed in reverse with the fastest at the back and the slowest on Pole.

However, the 107% rule still applies (so that everyone has to set a lap).

To discourage a driver from deliberately driving a second slower than normal a point is awarded for the fastest time.

It would be interesting to see if drivers would sacrifice the point for fastest lap in order to start further up the grid.

This would be so cool if realized in reality...but who would give their best during the qualifying that way?

I was hoping that points for the fastest qualifying lap would be enough incentive for drivers to push.

Another idea would be a superpole type qualifying session. Not sure how these work exactly as I only saw a superpole session for the first time yesterday.

In the GT race I saw the first 12 qualifiers from the regular session then had to do another lap to determine their starting position.

I think this may work to an extent. Drivers would have to push to ensure starting near the front and this could lead to them "falling off" end ending further down than they hoped.

Funny Ha Ha

Hey, that was pretty good, especially since I was unable to watch the race live.
