You're right. The front fender shape and gills in front of the tires. Then the "shark teeth" rear wing endplates!

From Tokyo Auto Show
*Electric power steering for GT500 Nissan GTR which was not used after all although NISMO/JTEKT developed. (Nissan used Hydraulic power steering. Honda and Lexus used EPS made by KYB.) http://serakota.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2013-11-20 |

Sports-carracing.net reports JAF-GT300 mother chassis.
*GTA had announced the price of the Mother chassis monocoque as 2 million yen at the beginning. *Mother chassis was developed by Dome. GTA authorised engine was Nissan LMP2 engine. *Mother chassis price is 36 million yen excluded body cowl. *And Nissan engine price is about 9 million yen. *When body cowl manufacture cost is included, total price is 60 million yen(!). *However, GTA claims that the total price of Toyota 86 is 20 million yen. There is a rumor that Toyota assists 40 million yen. *The Mother chassis concept of GTA has failed substantially. http://www.sports-carracing.net/2013...131122special1 Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 22 Nov 2013 at 10:08. |

Too expensive for the entire package I guess? 2 million yen for the monocoque is $20,000. That doesn't seem like much at all. The Toyota 86 will be partially funded by Toyota by developmental costs were helped?

At that price you are much better off buying an FIA GT3 car..

20m Yen is much cheaper than GT3.
Mother chassis was never 2m yen from what I was told, would be impossible. |

Must have been a typo. 20million ¥ which would be around $200k plus an engine would seem to be closer to the prices Japanese Samurai posted.

Hah, of course. The Prius seems to be the car that has not been on par unlike their previous attempts! Driver related?

I think you're allowed to make a new thread . So go ahead. Pretty interested myself in how the new rules for 2014 will pan out with Toyota, Honda and Nissan getting new cars.
