Last night the Jones brothers agreed to sell their spare car to Black Falcon, the #1 car should be back out later this evening, hopefully for A6 Qualifying.

practice 2 cut short after a large crash - Rhino Lambo is done for the day.
Qualifying about to start. looks like there will be 75 cars taking to the track. Combined qual for next hour, then 30mins for slower classes & 30mins for the top classes. Then night practice for 2 hours |

I'm really struggling to understand these utterly bizarre rules, I feel like an American watching test match cricket for the first time with no one there to explain it. Can someone help?

I'll give it a go:
If you qualify with a lap time under 2:05, or if the stewards think you are sandbagging; you will be considered a PRO car - you will get a bit of extra weight etc... but be allowed to run as fast as you like during the race. Otherwise, you are given a target lap time which you can only go under a maximum of 10 times during the race (the idea is to stop a car of gentlemen drivers bringing a ringer in to gain an advantage over the other amatuer entries). Class A6 (GT3) is where the winner will come from 997 (porsche cup) and SP2 (old GT3 or unhomologated GT3ish) might sneak into the top 10 by the end of the race No safety car - if needed, they call a "code 60" which means all cars must do max 60kph on track Last edited by courageous; 10 Jan 2013 at 13:00. |

Ugh....
A6 'Pro' - Allowed to go as fast as possible, handicaps are: 30kg extra weight, -5L in the fuel tank and a slightly higher ride height. A6 'Am' - Cannot qualify below 2:05, cannot go below 2:05 during the race more than 10 times (10 'joker' laps) before being stung with a trip thru the pitlane. No handicaps. |

Will be getting up a bit earlier than usual to catch the start before work, and then stay tuned in and out throughout the race. Looking forward to starting the 2013 season!

Thoroughly enjoyed the first hour and a half. So much strategy with the code 60s, the limited fuel pumps and the pro cars running "unlimited" and the Am cars running 2:05. Very interesting!
