Well with the performance of the de Ferran car (WOW) and the pace that Highcroft and Fernandez cars have shown of late things look pretty bright from where I'm looking. Fernandez was very competitive at MMP until he got clipped by the Dyson Spyders bone headed move. Highcroft car...well not much to say there. AGR seems to be in a slump or something, we know the car can be a rocket, with Marco at Sebring as example, so I hope they can find the issue and excise it. With the improvements to the car =01b seeming to be very effective it would indicate to me that Nick should have a monster ready to enter into P-1 with!

I hope they let some teams play about with their LMP2 car , once the LMP1 is up and running . I mean , why not , they are already there .

The teams that run the current cars own them! I will agree with the thought that when/if any of the current teams go to P-1 that they will sell their cars to other teams to run.

Oh right , I wasnt aware that the cars were owned by the teams . In that case , it sounds logical that there will be a few of them about then .

According to latest Murphy only de Ferran had the latest engine at Miller and one of the Acura teams might not be back in 09.

Let's play a game of elimination... Highcroft came into this with the least to loose and the most to gain. They are staying, Duncan couldn't have started to take the modern/pro side of racing more seriously then he did, success in business is mostly about TIMING! De Farran just got here, has deep connections to Honda, staying... Fernandez had ties to Honda as well, most likey the best team overall in terms of overall pace. Once they stop with the small errors, they'll win more than a handful of events, staying. I'd say A-G is the most likely to expand to say 4 cars in the unified IRL and focus on that series. |

We shouldn't need a cycle of loosing cars in one class to gain them in another in net effect gaining NOTHING, status quo continues, only the competition gets stronger in one class and weaker in another. |

The speculation about which team may not return with Acura needs to focus (if it even exists) on the reason that the bear mentions for the disquiet. THat is not necessarily related to performance. I believe it is AGR that will be gone as well, but not really for the reasons you mention, DJ.

Some silly wild Burro prognostication.
Well with the hint that someone is not pleased with the level of expenditures vs returns, the proficient yet somewhat lacking performance of the drivers, and the recent merger of the two open wheel series along with becoming a more involved venue promoter for the IRL, maybe Michael, Kim and Kevin feel that they should just ride the year out and concentrate on their open wheel business as a whole in 09. (?) Unless of course they become an Acura "Works" P-1 team in 09! L.P. |

I just thought of the most likely to quit ALMS. Fernandez and Highcroft had the most to gain from it, as neither had factory supported programs otherwise. De Ferran already had deep ties to Honda That leaves ONLY one... |

Pruett has a small "rumour":

I was thinking two birds with one stone. Homologate an NSX GT car, with the street car release, and use the homologated engine in the P-1 EVO coupe. link

Audi's Jürgen Pippig: "Audi is very good in endurance, especially after the arrival of other major manufacturers such as Peugeot and Honda soon."
