quickshifters?
First off if quickshifters are banned for your karts, then i apologise for wasting your time as this relates to a kart (PVL) ignition where i'm allowed a quickshifter
I currently use a quickshifter with my digital PVL ignition (have also used it on a analogue one), it is powered by a separate 9v battery and kills the ignition using the earth wire on the coil. I have a few probs with it, that mean i'm after a new one (this was a home built job) Translogic do one designed for a kart, or gp125 bike: http://www.translogicuk.com/qs6gp.htm i've given them a call but just ended up with more question i couldn’t explain well enough to them for a answer. It is wired in between the stator and the coil, in other words you’d plug the two wires from the stator into quickshifter and then plug the two wires from the quickshifter into the coil. It draws 20mA can the stators spare this without it shafting the ignition/weakening the spark. It kills the ignition by separating the stator and coil, i.e. as if you unplugged the stator, will this damage my expensive digital coil? Big thank you to anyone who can give me some info cheers Phil |

I'll ask my dad (he'll know, it's his work) and get back to you soon.
