Well, there is is gentlemen...... like last year....I am left wondering if it is this years, and not last years car (but we won't make that mistake again will we?).
Nothing looks radical.....all much of the same, amazingly curvy....a typical Ferrari. |

Looks pretty similar to the 2004M - what's the betting it will look different again by the time it makes it's race debut.

Mmmm, very disappointing at first view...
Aerodinamically it's really similar to the F2004M Just a little different nose cone and a different engine exhaust zone Maybe the surprises are under the bodywork, and it will be a rocket again |

Ferrari often don't show their full hand at the car launch, we may see a few more 'radical' additions when it races - should they be required of course.

as have been said, Ferrari tends to appear in the first race with a very different car. It´s quite amazing its simplicity compared with all the complicated aerodynamic devices featured in other cars. But, you have to be very brave to bet against a ferrari in the podium in melbourne, whatever dissapointing its car may be...

Considering that the F2004M is an upgraded F2004 which looks very similar to the F2003GA... doesn't this make the F2005 like the F2003? lol
Looks very much a predictable evolution of the previous design, and i'm surprised that the front wing is actually carried over onto the F2005. Maybe they just bolted on a F2004M piece. A fatter nose cose and more crafted rear end are the main noticable differences, probably the team are confident that the whole aero package is well established enough. One thing i expected is a far more aggressive sidepod, with more crafted low end considering how Sauber had gone quite a distance and Mclaren had made the whole side pod so sleekish..but i guess Ferrari have the data and conclude what they have is the best solution. Good thing that the car is quite attractive, and as long as it is fast reliable and winning, other things really doesnt matter that much. |

I think the sidepods are every bit as tucked-in and undercut as Sauber's and Mclaren's. Only Williams and, to a lesser degree, Toyota have a smaller, lower shape.
The car does have the radical forward location for the exhausts - this is seen on the Sauber, and is obviously a feature of the new Ferrari engine. It seems that there is more space behind the exhausts for the air to calm-don before it gets to the rear wing. The exhausts are also vry close to the centre-line of the car, and dangerously close to the fuel cap. The nose swoops a little higher behind the rear wing than before. The sidepod undercut is masked from most angles by the barge boards, but is pronounced. Detailing, as expected, is simply bonkers - curves and serrations everywhere, but all beautifully rounded and integrated. It looks to me like they have moved the cockpit and sidepods forward? Is the engine and transmission pushed forward also - leaving a slimmer rear end? Most notticable on this launch car is the lack of any cooling outlets - the sidepod chimneys are blanked-off (and in any case extremely thin) and there are no gills at all. I guess they have a variety of options still to be seen. Last edited by Glen; 25 Feb 2005 at 11:44. |

Typical Brawn style speech...looks like Ferrari expect to be beaten (fair and square) with the F2004M...but are going to come back firing on all cylinders with the F2005. Wud be interesting to watch how the whole season unfolds!

What a bunch of grinches... Its gorgeous, and it'll be fast. Highlights from gazzetta and repubblica:
- rear wing moved forward - redesigned engine cover -modified air inlets and aero on sidepods -completely new exhaust system and position -completely new rear end to accomodate completely new smaller and lighter carbon fibre gearbox - completely new rear suspension design Forza Ferrari! |

He's hardly likely to say "This car is not quite as good as previous Ferraris" is he.

Christ.. it almost looks like it's got no engine in there seeing how narrow the area is behind the sidepods...
And they went ahead with the small additional wing underneath the front wing... Looks good, let's hope it stays with just good looks... |

Th sidepods and rear end look very, very impressive to me. Not radical, but extremely polished and detailed. It looks "right".
However, it is ugly and the sooner mini front wings and winglets are banned the better! Also, the livery is rank, but that is unimportant. This car will be the one to beat I'd imagine. Hopefully by not too much though. |

I love it. It looks sleek, competitive, fast, agressive and it's nice and shiny as well.
I can't wait to see it race. |
