The way I see it, he was half-joking by saying the other two names because it would mean he would get a bigger points lead over Rosberg in terms of the championship. If you read the rest of the interview, he states that the preferred finish order for the team would be a merc 1-2. I don't see what he said as being manipulative or anything, just joking around with the reporter.

The opposite! Remember how Hamilton and Alonso were singing praises to each other the last year, as if the guys didn't even know that Vettel existed? Clearly, they wanted to diminish the value Vettel's skill in winning his tittles. I think this statement is simply the affirmation of the same thing. "I am the best driver, besides Alonso, and Vettel should be third behind us, at best".

That he acts like a kid sometimes. And that today all his big man act wore off as soon as his qually went wrong.

He's spent a lot of time recently talking about psychology himself, talking about Rosberg, etc. Just this weekend it was comments about how Rosberg had had a better life before F1 and so he (Lewis) has more motivation.

I'm not claiming to be a psychological expert, but so what if I'm sitting on my armchair? I can't have an opinion?

I don't think it's so much a weakness, more that Hamilton believes he is better than/deserves to win more than Rosberg because of where he came from.

Of course, I just didn't know what weakness you were suggesting. None was particularly evident to me - just the annoyance of not getting the chance to beat Rosberg. Let's face it, why should he big up the only rival he's going to have for this year's WDC.....?
