Crew Chief Dennis Huijser walked out mid season a couple of years back. I wouldn't have thought Dennis would have done that lightly.

I remember Erebus having a bad run with their pitstops a few years back. At one meeting Ryan decided to vent to the TV. Throwing his crew under the bus. (classy) It would have been great sitting in your pit licking your wounds only to hear the team boss putting the boot into you on live TV.

A good man manager would never have done what he did. He took no responsibility for any of the problems himself. He should have been making sure the teams training was fit for purpose. Also making sure that the team members were all up to working under that pressure, not everyone is. A good manager would recognise if someone was struggling and putting themselves under too much pressure. You can see if guys are getting that 1000 yard stare. That mindset is going to have you rushing your job straight away. An experienced manager will look for this and take steps to calm that member down. A small calming chat before the stop tell him to just slow it down and take his time, keep it clean. But no, you bag your crew out on live TV. I think he hinted at heads could roll. Ryan shoots from the lip and struggles to control his emotions.

There is no major exceptional exodus of drivers from Erebus, period.

Still, there would be no dispute now if Betty didn't let Will walk on his contract.

She should have made him stay or made someone buy out his contract, as is standard practice.

I doubt anybody at Scentre group is walking away from valid contracts when they get a better offer.

If a preventable mistake happens the buck has to stop with someone. Strong leadership means there is consequences for well paid people in positions of authority , like in any business

That was a different situation which is incompetents at a higher level. The pit crew were mostly young guys on average wages. There was no excuse for what he did. You don't air your dirty laundry like that. You keep that kind of thing in house. You don't bag out your staff on live TV. And when you are part of the pit crew as car controller.

Red Bull are apparently taking notice of the complaint and taking immediate amd no doubt expensive action to have the complaint reviewed and actioned by professionals in the area of expertise.
