Perhaps the deal has to do with the links between Honda, seeing as Rossi has a factory Honda ride and BAR has factory Honda engines.
Altho I'm not sure Rossi would want to enter F1 with BAR, coming from being 4 times champion in MotoGP to running midfield in F1 will be an unpleasant experience, even if it is seem a step "up" in motorsports if he moves from bikes to F1. |

He's not going anywhere until he has broken Doohans and ???(for the life of me I cant remember the great mans name) records for wins and championships.

Definitely a promo thing like Biaggi in the Ferrari a few years back.

Rossi has said himself that he has no interest whatsoever in F1. His passion for four-wheels is rally.
This is a set up by Honda. |

Agostini - 15 World Titles.
Rossi already has four, and one in each class - 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and the new MotoGP. He has the talent and machinery to win the next 11 to equal that, but he'd get bored. He likes a challenge. |
