He said he saw these things in Cologne? Remember Subaru's parent company, Fuji heavy industries is owned in part by Toyota- who just happen to have their TMG facility in Cologne. Hmm, I wonder if theres a connection?

It may have just been the large beer that was in Cologne. That is actually quite unusual.

The surrealist in me thinks it would be absolutely brilliant if this was a rekindling of Carlo Chiti's Subaru 3.5 litre flat 12.

The Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ share the same chassis so there is certainly some synergy there. What that actually means for sportscar racing I don't know.

Ecurie Ecosse planning to return to Le Mans in 2014 in GTE. They say they can't run the BMW Z4 GTE because they are only allotted for TUSCC. So they are in talks with another manufacturer.

Glad to see they've secured some additional funding. They've had the Le Mans 2014 ambition for a while but things were looking a bit bleak in the summer.

I'd assume whatever they purchase will be run in the ELMS alongside. I'm sure Aston would like an ELMS presence and some of the associated PR with the name returning to La Sarthe.

It would be really cool to see an Aston with the classic Ecurie Ecosse livery.

With the Aston news, it doesn't seem likely they will run one. But that could change. Porsche is full as well. That leaves Ferrari, Vette or Viper. I think the last option would be a great sight!

Some more details of the Subaru on RCE here

Some will, I have no doubt, recall the name of the project leader, Al Solari, from an abortive ALMS project a few years back - I suspect everyone will be capable of drawing their own conclusions about this one.

It's more than the abortive ALMS project, it is that the guy seems to have run other questionable projects. The ALMS project was one of them.

If you want to find out all you need to know about "some" of his past dealings, here you go.

Perfect timing

"A warrant for the arrest of Alberto Solaroli, 59, of Jacksonville, Florida, was issued on Thursday"

" Solaroli received a one year line of credit which he took within the first month of the loan approval, with over $900,000 being paid to Porche Motorsport, N.A. Solaroli never made a single payment on the loan causing OneBanc to sue Solaroli. "

It is expected that it will produce in excess of 550bhp and can run with very little cooling indeed due to its use of a patented ‘Pseudo Adiabatic’ combustion process.
In the light of all that has been posted above I'm starting to think that this is just a fancy scientific term for 'vaporware'.

The end of the article said the system was used on a 5 cylinder Audi engine making over 800hp. So it definitely works.

That's only what Solari says. I don't know much about engines, but this project sounds like vaporware.

But it exists. Vaporware doesn't exist. Whether it goes anywhere is questionable, but the same can be said of other projects like the Perrinn lmp1 etc.

And that someone else specialises in advanced automobile engines and holidays in Albania.

I don't honestly think you could make this stuff up, it makes the Soup Kitchen Courage-Cosworth project of a few years back look well thought through.
