NickC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Britcar 24 Hours 7/8/9th September 2007

I can't see a thread for this so I thought I would oblige.

Entry list -

http://www.eerc.co.uk/cms/e107_files..._AT_230807.pdf

Timetable -

http://www.eerc.co.uk/cms/e107_files...TABLE_2007.pdf

Seems a good and varied entry. Dailysportscar seem to indicate a few more late entries like the Jag GT3 but I'm not a subsciber and it's not free anymore!
Can anyone else fill us in with the details?

Looking forward to this event. Anyone else popping along?

Satorian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Nice to see that the Top Gear blokes are indeed registered with their BMW 330 DTI.

Now the Final Gear guys need to return there too and enter the same class.

Yes Radio Le Mans will be there. 0157Globecast will again be providing the coverage during the whole event. It will also be the only way to get race reports during the night as the PA system has to be shut down due to noise.

I can just imagine the top gear episode

Clarkson- "How hard can it be!"
Hammond- "But who's going to be the fourth driver?"
Clarkson- "Some say he could do the 24 hours by himself, and that he needs no license to participate in a race..." You get the rest...

Does anyone know if there will be an FM service (91.2?) at the circuit, or just Globecast?

He will be one of the flaggies on Woodcote.

It should be a great meeting, this will be my third Britcar 24 and I am really looking forward to it too. I just hope there is no fog this year.

Soooo... if "The Stig" is entered... presumably the drivers have to have a national/international class licence of a certain level... to present to the officials of the meeting....

.... will the illusion and mystery of "The Stig" be revealed??

Judging by Mr May's performance Here, unless Mr Stewart is there for coaching... that Bimmer may be a serious slowpoke....

This also begs the question of, would any of the Top Gear presenters even have racing licenses?

Richard Hammond holds at least a national B licence - and he has used it to good effect by entering a classic touring car race in a Rover. The other two are unknown.

And as for The STIG - He'll be on a marshals post waving flags at the cars in the middle of the night!

The ''STIG'' definitely holds a license....an international, maybe a super license, as did the previous Stig.

Possibly, I know on various UK / int publications some staff members have race licenses partly cos they race in their own time but also because it can be useful if they're asked to test for their mags. Kevin Turner [Autosport] is the most recent person I can remember reading about having raced this year.

I thought Britcar races were televised so presume there'd be something on the 24 hours?

I shall also now be going (Saturday only, I'm working on Sunday, unfortunately ). My two lads were very keen to witness the 'Top Gear' effort first hand and I shall look forward to cheering on Shorty and Stuart. Weather forecast is good, I'm really looking forward to it!

Yes there will be TV coverage of the 24hrs. A Highlights show should be SKY Sports as part of world motorsports and we had highlights on Motors TV as well so presume they will provide us some more coverage. When they are shown however is anyones guess.
