Where's Jimmy heading?

I've been out of the loop of things for a while, so this might be a stupid question. But does anyone have any news on where, and for whom, Jimmy Vasser will be racing this season?

Nobody knows nothin' right now. But I expect that an announcement regarding Jimmy will be one of the first ones we'll hear.

Does anyone have any preliminary ideas? Any good gossip floating around out there? I would sincerely hope he lands with a team that can actually put him in some solid equpment that will allow him to compete on a week in/week out basis.

No-one seems to know except Jimmy and PG/KK. But there will be an announcement.

There will be many announcements...I just hope they get around to announcing them any time soon!

I know, I know, papers must be filed, I's must be dotted and T's must be crossed and all that....it doesn't help us all sitting here stewing over what to expect though!

Crash.net, in an "exclusive", say that Vasser is heading to PK.

Looks like he does have a drive now, with PK. Great to see his career continue - as an established star, and a popular American figure, he is essential for the series gathering a domestic following.

It's basically been confirmed that he'll be at PK with Gonzalez. Great to see Jimmy continue into what is the twilight of his career.

Hopefully Salo can pick up a seat somewhere.

What happened to Gonzalez with Herdez? Salo should have the PK seat

Salo turned down the PK seat, citing that their salary offer wouldn't even pay for his insurance!

You may be right macdaddy, but IMO I believe Salo left because of his relationship with Pollock.

I agree with that statement Dov. Wish I knew what happened with Pollock and Kalkhoven. Is it possible that Pollock is going to field his own team, or is the split not amicable and Pollock is out completely?

I'm not really sure, racinthestreets. Of course anything is possible, but I think Pollock is going to worry about JVill this year and try to find him a job in ALMS and a top seat in F1 for the 2005 season when many of the current drivers contracts are up IMHO. I just hope that Salo hooks up with another ChampCar team. He is a very good driver and his name brings credibility to the series when we need it the most!!!

Cheers,

Dov
