The Best Team 2004 (awards)
10 Tenths Awards 2004
F1 Team of 2004 The votes are in and they have been counted. The winner is Ferrari Runners up 2nd: BAR 3rd: Renault Not only have Ferrari clinched their seventy-fifth consecutive world championship they have also claimed the prestigious 10 Tenths Teams prize. Fifteen wins on the way to the constructors convinced us 10 Tenthers that they deserved the title. BAR and Renault also matched their second and third in the Constructors championship in our poll. McLaren's late season charge enabled them to sneak ahead of Williams in our poll, something they didn't manage in the F1 championship. Voters recognised the large turn around the team made after starting the year with a slow and unreliable car. Jaguar, Toyota and Jordan have each slipped a place as Minardi vaulted them to seventh. The underdogs gaining a few votes ahead of those teams that underperformed despite their resources. The results are the combined effort of 10 Tenths voters who awarded points to the top eight teams. The F1 points system was used to rank the teams. Below is a summary of the full results. A 'win' is a 1st place vote by a member (etc...) and a DSQs are double (uncounted) votes by a user. Code:

Good to see the positive votes for McLaren - a team which is too often knocked on here.

I'm really surprised Jordan finished plum last given how much of a fan favourite they seem to be.
Someone should email Paul Stoddart about this though, I'm sure the Ten-Tenths awards will help him secure all that lucrative sponsorship money he's after. |
