I like it simply for the fact that it will be easy to tell the 2 team cars apart. Trying to identify wing endplate colours or mirror colours can be a pain at times.

BIG fan of split liveries. I can see why teams don't do it from a simple parts/brand identity perspective but I still love it.

It looks like the Hot Wheels BMW z4 gt3 (which was oddly mislabeled as a BMW z4 m coupe)

I hope so too as it would be a refreshing change from the usual BMW corporate livery, just like the M3 art car which they ran at Le Mans.

Except the "Art car" was disgusting, and this thing actually looks decent.
I agree with above, I like teams running split liveries. |

#2 R18 improved to a 1:46.2, but on the following lap stopped on track--I don't know the reason, but it's been back out since the track went green again (?--not sure, it's lap count hasn't changed in several minutes, but it's not shown as being in the pit area or having been withdrawn from the session).
Strange that the #1 Audi hasn't done any laps so far today, and probably won't until at least tomorrow. Also, even with 15kgs of ballast (due to running to ACO regs), I have every reason to believe that Audi are probably sandbagging, and their plan probably is to run only as fast as they have to to get pole and win the race--they don't want the ACO to implement any BOP changes before LM and they don't want Toyota to get a good idea of what they're up to with the '13 car. Rebellion have done pretty well for themselves today, and I don't believe that PLM last year is a fluke--they'll give MM Picket plenty to handle this year. PC cars turning respectable lap times on the Contis. Hope the Michelin PC tires being used on the P2 cars can keep up with the Dunlops.

A lot of cars didn't run today, the most notable being the #1 Audi R18, and the HPD LMP2s (Level 5 and ESM). None of those cars seemed to run a lap during either session.

Early days but the GT times look nicely bunched up.

All but seven of the 42 cars entered ran today -- the #1 Audi, the four HPD P2s, and the two NGT Motorsport GTC cars were the ones not on the track.

The fact is that all of those cars are supposed to be heavy hitters in their own categories (#1 Audi in LMP1, Level 5 and ESM in LMP2, and NGT in GTC). Suprising that ESM didn't run, since the HPD LMP2 is still new to them, Level 5 because of the switch from Dunlop back to Michelin, and why Audi didn't even attempt to run the #1 Audi, though the least concerning of those who didn't run today (they have last year's notebook to fall back on and it's an essentially unchanged car compared to the update #2 R18), it's still a bit surprising to see why they didn't run, if not to get Jarvis some laps (he's new to Sebring, unless he ran a few laps in the #2 during the day), and to compare notes between the two cars.

BTW The #1 Audi is running with a smaller restrictor (-3%) and 15 kg of ballast compared to 2012. |

How much can you actually read from the timing at practice sessions like these?
I'm assuming there's a decent amount of sandbagging throughout the field to avoid BoP penalties and revealing your true speed to other teams, F1-style? |
