GT500s are tubeframe silhouette cars, correct? Doesn't strike me as the VLN type cars, unless they open it up to bring DTM cars in as well. I'd rather see LMP3 or something like that over tube frame GTs, would be hard to mix with the lower classes though. When is(or was) the 24Hr?

Yes, GT500 car is a tubeframed car except a cabin.
I think Falken use this car. http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/c...RS/380rsc.html |

At the second VLN Race yesterday at Nurburgring, Team HISAQ-Competition won the race after the favorite teams of Manthey and Zakspeed hat to quit due to technical problems.
This was the second race the team took part at all! Kissling-Motorsport scored 6th with the Corvette C6, also racing for the second this with the car. |

Prodrive Aston GT3 car lost control on the oil of the Alzen-Porsche and hit the Armco. Their race was over as well. Not a good debut, but I hope they'll improve. Alzen is probably my favourite VLN team. |

Thanks Speed King.
What a shame! Was the car fast in practice or qualifying? (or did they not even do that!) |

14th place, 8:36:8. Not spectacular, but alright for the first outing I'd say.

what kind of times was the Cayman doing? Have they been forced to cancel that project, like that GT4 team was? |

Exactly a year ago it did an 8:28:2 in qualifying, placing it 5th.
I think they pretty much gave up on the Cayman when it became clear they couldn't fit the Carrera GT V10 into it. |

I also heard that Porsche have vehemently discouraged the use of the Cayman for racing purposes.

If I recall right Porsche didn't want them to race the Cayman but their respons was something like them not caring because Porsche have never helped them.

Sounds like it's done in-house, I'm sure Abt would get an honorable mention. |

If by better you mean ugly gaping maw like a fish out of water, gasping for breath, then yes. In general that concept car looks like a puddle of vomit on a floor, and not just because of the colour...
The N24 car, however, is lovely-looking. |
