Please Explain.???

Could someone please explain to me why SHRT looks completly different to all the other VT Commodores of GRM,KKRT,and TDR. SHRT in the front are nothing like the others, and I know that the paint scheme has nothing to do with it so is there something different? :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

No there shouldnt be anything different... the paintwork is detailed differently to change the highlights, but no real difference

It is the ex-Kelly car from Darwin, so should be very similar to the rest of the HMS squad

Watching the telecast, sorry it was different. I looked over & over again and it was different. That why I asked the question, is there something suss going on.

The car seems to sit on the road better than the SHRT versions, but if you think about it, it is the only VX/VY with a VX Chev aboard

I dont think linking stories is stealing, in the end you have to go to the original site to see what you need to anyway...

But the 2 cars do look similar... the bonnet/grille areas look slightly different, a bit rougher on Murf's car, and that might be a function of the VX/VY conversion more than anything else.

The spoilers are the same, except the SHRT one has better highlighting..

It could be a question of paintwork...

I will admit if you look VERY closely there is a difference but the photo looks like it was taken in the rain so that means race oone or the shootout. Perhaps accident damage may have affected one or the other of the cars. In the shootout, no contact would have been made and Skaife did back his car in on lap1 was there any damage to the rest of the car? Same goes for Murphy- a slight touch can and does cahnge the shape of the splitters and the bonnet can be pushed back.

Or maybe someone's having fun with us all... Who knows.

Well to me, after seeing the Murphy pic on GTR's link, it l;ooks as though the left side of the bonnet isn't closing flush, which could be a carry over from NT. Could also be a bonnet pin thing too but looks more like a panel fit. They're race cars after all, the get scratched dented and generally abused and they work hard. I doubt whether every little dent gets attention all the time.

I can see were you coming from Mattracer, but SHRT grille is at least 50% smaller than any other VT Commodore on the track, sorry but either J Greech is cheating(heaven forbid) or something smells of rules for some rules for other. Ask Aussie BernieTC for his explaintion of this difference of Holden grilles.

I reckon Murf's looks larger because the lip of the bonnet is curved as opposed to being parallel to the ground.

Perhaps SHRT are closing off the ability for air to go into thebonnet by any other means but the carbon fibre airbox??

But is not project blueprint spousse to have all Commodore equal VT/VT nad VY/VY the same sorry boys but something is going on here abd it is not the paint job.

Murphs grill has a holden badge and scaife doesnt = scaife could be off a calais for instance.
i still say its the paint scheme.

The bathurst shot I put up for Skaife's car looks different to the other VYs... the bonnet seems to be mounted lower, so the lip takes up part of the space normally occupied by the grille!
