Kid Prozac should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BRSCC Winter Formula Ford Today

Have to say that todays second Formula Ford race was perhaps the best I have seen all year, fantastic driving by the top 6 drivers, passing and re passing lap after lap. Made what I thought was going to be a dull day worth it after all, and breifly took my mind off how freeking cold it was!!

Just hope it carries over to next year, unfortunately, with no established names, except Rettara, difficult to gauge how they will all do.

Oh, and Retarra's save from going along the end f the pit straight facing the inner guardrail, fabtatsic!

You're talking about Zetec here, so I will move it to National and International.

We won

Im not going to post our press release because it would be hypocrytical but I would like to express how happy I am that we won the Formula Ford Winter Races. Its the first time we have won a decent race since 2002 and hopefully not the last.

Id also like to say how proud I am of Rob Sunderland, we could see from his first test with us in september that he had what it takes to win. We pushed him really hard and showed him how he could achieve his goals. Then at the final FF round he finished twice in the top ten, didnt do great at the festival and then this weekend he was really determined to win and did it.

Hopefully now we will be able to work with him to get his sponsors to sign up to next season when I am sure he will be able to keep up this form.

Must admit that looking at the results it looked like a fine old race. Be interesting to see how UKFF pans out in 2005.

A humdinger indeed! If the final race hadn`t been shortened (twice) I reckon Richard Keen probably would`ve beat them all.

I thought Richard Keen was very impressive - as he has been all season.

Excellent races there, the best two of the day. Made of for the chilly air

My mate said that Retara reminded him of Daniel Clarke... fast, but chucks it off a lot. Still, Clarkes done quite well as of late.

I had an excellent view of Retera's save. I was the back marker keeping as far over to the left as I could, as the leading 6 cars came past 3 abreast, with Retera sideways on the grass on the inside clearly unable to slow down.

He slid across my bow, lucky not to T-bone anyone else, flew (literally) through the gravel trap, rejoined behind me at the bottom of the hill before passing me again into Druids, scattering gravel everywhere - Amazing!!!

Zetec has taken a knocking this season - but it is a good category and can offer great racing. If you own one, don't leave it in the garage - get it out on track, whatever its age.

Yes Frank Bradley = THE Frank Bradley. Spun at Paddock in race 2 causing stoppage and unable to make restart...

Both races were good and fun to watch, it all helps to keep the cold out as KP said in his original post. At least it didn't snow like it did for a short period on Saturday!

Geva-Nelson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Dennis Retera, our driver, in my opinion drove a fantastic first race after a very good quali. We gambled on a slightly dryier race but Dennis made the best of the car we gave him and remained in control throughout the race.

In the second race his inexperience showed as he was comfortably fast enough to take his time and line up a valid attempt at the lead but he was a bit impacient.

As for those of you who seem to think that he's a graveldigger. This was only his second incident of the year ( the other was at the festival ) and only shows us that going to the winterseries to learn has been a good descision.

What I am happy with most is the fact that on friday Dennis improved his best laptime at BH by 4 tenths on a significantly colder track. lowering it to a healthy 48.3 with ease as opposed to pushing all the way during the festival for a 48.7.

Next year you will see more of us as we are planning 4 or 5 races in the national series and 2 in the clubmans series. We will do this with one thing in mind. to do very well at the festival. At least he has shown that he's got all the ingredients to do well and as for the team. I gues we're not bad after scoring our 5th top ten finish at the festival this year.

Welcome to the forum Nelson, although I remember you being here previously.

Your man looked good, him and Rob improved significantly since the festival. Keen and Bentley were also very impressive.

you are right ofcourse but new mail adresses and the forgetting of passwords made sure that I chose a nog log-in name.

The thing most people don;t know about Dennis is that this was only his second event in a Mygale SJ04. He did the season in a 2000 car and the O4 is a very particular car to drive. You really have to get your head around a couple of things. so a lot of the improvement comes from more experience but I must say. I did not expect a 48 low in those conditions.

As for the UK championship, I'm hearing very nice things from a good number of people so we'll probably be there aswell!

And how surprised he was after being helped out of his car by a Dutch marshal, after the incident at Druids! When I (marshalling too) spoke to him, in the Dutch language, just a couple of seconds later, he was even more surprised and asked me how many Dutch marshals there were present. I tried to convince him that ALL marshals at Brands that weekend were Dutch, but could see his doubts about that.

Still, a very good performance that weekend when you consider the circumstances. I’m looking forward to see him back at the Festival next year. If you can provide him with a well set up car, I’m sure he’ll be able to win it.

Mmm, something went wrong with the quoting. Tried to quote Geva-Nelson: As for those of you who seem to think that he's a graveldigger. By the way, are Nelson vd P?

Nope Nelson Valkenburg, son of teamboss Gert. Nelson VD Pol drove for us last year. We'll give him a good car, that's why we will be out at Brands Hatch several times next year.

incidentally we also had nelson Piquet Jr. out in our cars several times the last 2 seasons so that was a nice situation.

I'll have some spectacular DUTCH news for you that will show how we are strenghtening our team for next year.

There is a review at http://www.clubff1600.co.uk/news/new...sp?NewsID=190, but it only covers the FF1600s in the races.

That is very good news... the French series isn't that bad actually. they have 20+grids and although the quality isn't always that superb... the front end of the grid seems pretty decent.
