Somewhat difficult decision. Heidfield did well getting to eighth position from last. Alonso had a good first part of the race, but fell back on the hard tires. Hamilton kept a lot of pressure on Vettel, but was unable to get past him. Vettel managed to win even with the car having problems and Hamilton putting pressure on him. Final choice would be Vettel.

Button but Vettel is a close second. Vettel demonstrated he could race rather than simply lead from the front. Button had it all to do and did it.

Hamilton for me.
Was nice to have cars evenly paced, albeit with differing strengths. But you will always win at Catalunya if you have the better aero grip. |

I think heidfeld coming from nowheresville to the points after burning a Car up is pretty good. Button's drive was greatnice recovery good strategy. But the strategy was team work not pure drive-well done maclaren. Nice drive nick.

Difficult one, just Lewis, drivers having to save tyres, more importantly fuel, too much time spent in cruise mode instead of racing. As Seb said after the race 'He's coming' and Lewis/Team could not do a thing about it, except ensure he protected his well won points

Much as it pains me to admit it, I think Vettel shades it from LH. I think the RB was just faster than the Macca, but that was some great driving under pressure to stay ahead. They were both faultless in those last laps, and under that sort of pressure that's a great achievement.

Really tough choice this time; Vettel for soaking up the pressure; Hamster for sticking with Vettel when I thought the former was going to romp away; Bunsen for a great recovery after seeming to start another race in reverse; Heidfeld for making his way from the back; Schu for quietly getting on with it and bringing it in ahead of Nico for a change.
In then end I went for Lewis. |

I don't think there's any choice other than Vettel. The McLaren was faster in race trim - both Hamilton and Button were fast, which suggests the car was working really well.
I mean look at the lines in the last 15 laps between Vettel and Hamilton. Hamilton's was sticking superbly on the ideal line, Vettel with understeer everywhere. The reason Vettel is the definite driver of the race isn't just because he won, but because he was having to early pit every time to try and jump Alonso, meaning when he finally got ahead he had to conserve those softs for 4 or 5 extra laps to bring him back to the same pitting sequence as Hamilton so he didn't end up on the hards way too early. Hamilton meanwhile got a bit lucky to just get Alonso as well after the pit stops, because Alonso was just too damn slow after the second pit stop. Also the way Vettel sliced past Massa and Button and someone else on new tyres after that first stop in like 4 corners - that was brilliant. And then holding off a fast McLaren with DRS and having no kers... and lapping about a second a lap faster than Webber once both Red Bulls had clear air... gotta give it to Vettel. Heidfeld made a great recovery, but he did have some good tyres to do it with. Massa was the dud of the race. He needs to be replaced. |

Vettel for me. If nobody's doing something we're about to see a new domination era from another germany fellow.

Close, but:
Also the way Vettel sliced past Massa and Button and someone else on new tyres after that first stop in like 4 corners - that was brilliant. And then holding off a fast McLaren with DRS and having no kers... and lapping about a second a lap faster than Webber once both Red Bulls had clear air... gotta give it to Vettel." Just about sums up my thoughts....Button had been sat behind Massa apparently unable to pass until Vettel breezed out of the pits and woke him up by demonstrating what commitment was about......to be fair Jenson showed some mettle himself later... |

Still I am giving it to Nick because he had to make up most of the positions by overtaking and not thanks to some odd pit strategies. Surely the brand new softs helped there big time but it still was his craft that made the best of use of it. Beating his team mate there who even not ended up in points despite starting from 6 added there too |

I've already said I voted for Vettel, but there were a couple of other performances that impressed me and deserve a mention.
Alonso for one. His start was superb, incredibly brave and skilful and so was was his qualifying lap. 5th is where he has qualified for every race until now, yet here he was 4th in between the McLarens with a cigarette paper either side. I was also glad to see Jenson make the 3-stop strategy work well and put him on the podium. |

It is an outrage and we have docked 50% of Jeremy's mod salary for the weekend.
A difficult decision. In the end though it has to be Webber; managing to get fourth after only starting three places ahead of that. I'm sure others will agree. |

Button for me. For working his way from 10th to get ahead of Webber.
Notable mentions to Vettel, Schumacher, Heidfeld and Kamui (as always) |
