RIP Safety Car
Five races in to the 2011 season and not one safety car! Yippee!
Why? Better driving in 2011. Easier overtaking removes the desperation. Random chance. Just you wait ....... Answers on a postcard ..... |

It is still very early in the season. Plus we have Monaco coming up. There is a high possibility of a safety car there I think. I will admit that, the less we see of a safety car the better. I don't actually like it when it takes away the leader's time advantage! Plus giving drivers a free pitstop as well. Still it is a big plus, that this season we haven't seen a safety car so far.

I personally hope we never see the safety car again. I want to see cars racing not crawling around at a snails pace.

I think the driving standards have been pretty exemplary this year so far. I know some overtakes have been a breeze, but there's been very little blocking, and a lot of very close wheel to wheel racings, but very few 'real' crashes or bumps. Schumy had his moments in Turkey and Alonso tried to go through Hamilton's back tyre, but they seemed minor slip ups rather than actual bad errors.

and I hope they never do a Korea on us again.. 20 or so laps behind the safety car in conditions far better than at least 10/15 races we've seen in the past. And usually the most exciting races, where good drivers can shine.

I must commend the Monaco marshals incidentally for their top work. The removal of Maldonado's car was rapid! |

We need Schummy. I don't think it is statistically that unlikely to not have a SC in five races.
