Hmm maybe a sign of the times with the global credit problems, and the the opportunity was there for Richards to recieve some nice christmas bonus.

'Not for sale' seems to mean 'for sale at the right price'.

It also seems to generate more interest in the 'not for sale' business; ideal for prospective 'buyers'.

No I don't think so.

The press release was about Prodrive flogging FPR, not about Prodrive itself.

Different entities, though the news of recent days would make it natural to wonder where it was going....

How do you equate selling an equity stake in Prodrive UK to selling FPR? I took the press release to be an answer to someone suggesting that he might be selling FPR in Australia. But then, never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

I wouldn't read too much in to this. Surely this new investor just replaces Apax Partners who sold out of Prodrive last year?

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
its difficult to understand how an accounting put 1 and 1 together and comes up with "negative" 3

How does , getting investors into a business, become selling the business?

Richards sold 49% of Prodrive circa-2000 (who he sold it to escapes me at the moment), just before he bought the WRC TV rights.

A few years ago he subsequently bought that 49% back. Now seemingly has sold some of it off again.

Apax.
They sold out of Prodrive at the same time they (and Richards) sold out of the WRC in 2007.

they have sold a stake in the ownership of prodrive.

without a full understanding we cant draw any conclusions but it seems like they have raised funds to research hybrid motors etc

Nothing wrong with the talcum powder.

The prodrive sale discussion is interesting... along the lines of "yes we are for sale... but not to you"

There was a serious approach (allegedly..) to buy FPR outright... just as there was an alleged serious approach (Oh what a feeling...) to buy FPV's parent outright... both rejected it seems... as interesting as it is...

Sorry for not totally connecting the dots...

Wow what a newsflash Prodrive said FPR wasn't for sale & then didn't sell it.

Everything is for sale at the right price and the right time. With the current upset of the Auto Industry, it may be good or it could be bad. I would wait for a 3-8 months until things settle down.

I would also have a sunset clause just in case

Things like this have a way of leaking out, so to think that someone was selling the team admitting that they were losing their most high profile contract without it being made public is to delve in to the make-believe.

LP sold his Level 1 franchises to WPS to generate income to fund a... personal family related venture away from racing, and purchased a two L2 franchises to continue racing. Not quite the same thing.

He he he

Davo Richards and his incredibly (un) successful prodrive operation are going to take over HondaF1 with Arab cash.

So they can come last with even more money on board

Just like FPR.

When will Frosty wake up and smell the coffee, and get the feck out of Dodge?
