Predictions for Silverstone? will anybody beat Daniel Ricciardo?
Would be good to see Nick Tandy win so I'll go for Ricciardo to win, then I'll be pleased if my prediction is right and even more so if I'm wrong and Nick wins. 1 Daniel Ricciardo 2 Nick Tandy 3 Oliver Oakes (needs a good result) Nat Class 1 Daniel McKenzie 2 Victor Correa ( I know a brave bet) 3 Max Snegirev |

Hitech have pulled off something of a coup by doing what looks like a one-off deal for this weekend with the experienced Dutch driver, Renger van der Zande.
It will be a tall order for him to do well on a circuit he doesn't know using Cooper tyres (sorry, tires) he doesn't know either, but he has the class to shine. Let's hope does and that the deal becomes a permanent one. Story here. |

I am finding it hard not to pick Ricciardo to win at least one of the races - he is looking like the real deal to me?
Is it the full GP circuit this weekend? |

Silverstone...sweet.
Various OBC British F3 Is there a timetable out there anywhere? And bringing the tsl link forward from the Oulton thread (that is if I did it right). |

Thanks for getting this started, bella. I was thinking about it, but lacked inspiration. However, I'll add some information to show willing.
This is the F3 timetable. If you want the full version, it's probably on www.fiagt.com. Friday, May 1 09:00 to 09:30 Practice session 1 13:50 to 14:20 Practice session 2 Saturday, May 2 09:00 to 09:30 Qualifying session 1 12:10 to 12:40 Qualifying session 2 Sunday, May 3 13:00 Race 1, for a maximum 30 minutes 17:45 Race 2, for a maximum 30 minutes I think that means the F3s are first on the track tomorrow morning and last off it on Sunday evening. Nice. There's a race preview here, and you can find some other stories there, too. Sorry, L2LO, the timing link is different, because the FIA GTs use MST, not TSL. You should go here, click on Cooper Tires British F3 and then click on Live Timing for support races [top right]. As it's Silverstone, there will be hardly any overtaking unless it's wet, so qualifying and the race starts are all important. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Mercedes-powered winner or two, because I think their engine is better than the VW and the straight bits will give it a chance to stretch its legs, more so than at Oulton, so maybe Nick Tandy will turn the tables on Ricciardo. The Mugen-Honda is even stronger, but CF Racing need to give Hywel Lloyd a better chassis. If you don't believe me, check the speed trap figures for Oulton and again for Silverstone when the action gets under way. If it's wet then, yes, Ricciardo is your man. |

Silverstone prediction
My money is on Adriano Buzaid. He has being quick there and am sure he wants to prove a point. T-Sport much better than what they showed at Oulton Park. Will look to make amends.

it seems that the free practice times for British F3 have been changed, so apologies to anyone who attempted to get them earlier.

Thanks for the updates Strider, capital. Qualifying seems awfully early but the race times look pretty perfect.

No problem L2LO; good to see you posting on a BF3 thread again.
First free practice session times here. Second free practice sessions here. It looks like I shall have some humble pie to eat about Ricciardo, but let's see what qualifying brings, says he not very hopefully. Very good effort by van der Zande. Sorry, Peralta, Buzaid is not at the really sharp end just yet, but welcome to the forum anyway. |

National Class
Hello,
I'm very impressed with the pace Dan Mackenzie and Gabriel Dias are developing in National Class. Today the former Fortec Eurocup team mates (Dias ahead) got a gap around half a second to third overall! |

No, he didn't.
Peralta said May 2, which is tomorrow and would mean going straight into qualifying having missed the test today. It sounds very unlikely to me, particularly since at the FIA GT meetings the cars are scrutineered before the practice sessions and they are part of the meeting. Maybe the guys simply ran out of time. bella, any chance of sliding these posts into the Silverstone thread? |

But I wasn't, so I made a prediction that was guided more by my heart than my head, and I'm still going to be cheering for Nick, come what may. It's nothing personal towards anyone else, just that I think the team and the driver do a great job with the resources available to them. |

Ok, Qualifying 1 done, Ricciardo (don't know what happens, did only 3 laps) and Nick fail, session well done by Chilton, Van der Zande, Buzaid and Dias (i believe isn't easy to keep the F-307 within a gap around one second to best F-309 at the GP circuit)

Full Q1 report and times here. Ricciardo crashed out after a late start to the session, but Carlin often hold their cars back at the start of a session. The tyres are only at their best for a limited number of laps.
It looks like Tandy was just plain slow, although he was so far down maybe he had a problem. Yes, Dias did do well, as he was ahead McKenzie, who has usually been the pace-setter in the National Class so far. Times for those who don't want to click on the link: Code:

Thanks so much for the valuable insight, although I am actually aware of the many variables in setting up an F3 car.
Off topic, but why quote the entire post when you're only dealing with the last few short paragraphs? |

Weather Bright
Track Dry Live Timing A Little Dodgy Chilton's consistently faster than van der Zande, I take it there's no way by (and he's running out of time). |
