The layout confusion still persists! http://www.fiawec.com/en/news/bahrai...rcuit_619.html according to this story on the WEC's site, it seems they're planning on using the extended layout? So which is it?

Well, from that article it's pretty clear that it will be the longer "Endurance" circuit (6.3 km instead of 5.4) unless the journalist made up the bit about engineers walking the track. Until I actually see a car on track though....

It's very confusing. On Audi's site they have the long layout as well. On the FIA's site, they have the short layout on the trackmap of the hybrid activation zones. Then on the WEC's site, they have a story about the extra length and the usage of the 'endurance layout'? I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday.

Toyota released a video about 3/5 days ago showing someone driving the Toyota simulator (Not sure whether it was an official driver or not). The 5.4 km circuit was used rather than the 'endurance' 6.3 km layout.

The ACO have sent track maps to the teams and they show the Grand Prix Circuit layout, unless that has changed since last Wednesday and an email from the BIC says they are using the Grand Prix layout.

So much for the Endurance layout if the World Endurance Championship ain't gonna use it.

Does WMSC really discuss or plan things? It seems to just vote on things that are presented to them.

The video you are talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_d8-3D0bro

Is that really TS030? Because it sure sounds and looks (the way the car moves) more like F1 (just compare the sound to this), which makes me think it might be an old video.

Yeah that was an F1 simulation. The TS030 isn't that fast.

WEC Bahrain Spotter Guide is now online at http://www.spotterguides.com/2012-wec/

This shows the current entry list, although Bruni and Palttala aren't expected to appear.

Thanks to Ten-Tenths for their support and Felbermayr-Proton sponsor, Eyecoon for making this possible.

Note, I am on vacation from tomorrow am, so there will be no updates.

Another confirmation that the GP layout will be used.

The link I gave above has changed the content in the PR. Now they don't talk about the Endurance layout. I think it would be a closer race with that layout. Not sure if Audi will be as quick as Toyota with all the low speed hybrid zones. Even though I'm rooting for Toyota, I do want a close race.

Well I think they are using the ex-F1 simulator adapted to the TS030 as you can see from this video:

Anyone think we will see a bit of sandbagging in the opening practice sessions? Should be easier to pull off in Bahrain

The practice session has just started.

Audi is splitting the work between the two cars. Lotterer is doing a long run and McNish is doing setup work.

Toyota is consistently quicker than Audi at the moment.

Wurz just did 1:47.727, while McNish could only do 1:50.788 and 1:50.901

Wow, I heard on RLM that the No.1 car has problems or at least is still sitting in the garage. Is anyone else struggling with the video streaming on the official WEC site?

They are working on the left rear suspension.

EDIT: The repairs are finished. Fassler just existed the pits with 10 minutes to go.
