Oh, no! I liked the white / red / black combination. But of course, Petrobras is pouring some money again. With the 2014 Fifa World Cup coming, I doubt they will dare run in verde-amarela again

There's a lot of black. You would expect more red (Honda) and blue (Petrobras).

I couldn't see the race. Anyway, yesterday I saw Última Vuelta, the Monday night talk show. The championship CEO Pablo Peón attended the show.

The Renaults battled each other like there was no tomorrow

I'm wondering about the recent schedule. I thought TC2000 wanted to go a little more international in South America and expand to more countries in SA?

I noticed that Uruguay doesnt have a race anymore and they aren't going to Brazil as well. Is TC2000 content with just staying within Argentina?

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but do these cars have standard 400hp V8 engines? What's the point from engineering side of view? Is it another DTMish racing?
And how does that power go to the front wheels without making cars "crabby" or "saabby"? And if it's possible to put 400hp to the FWD then why BTCC can't use more powerful engines? Safety matters only?

yes, these cars used the 2.7 L V8 RADICAL engine and have 430 HP at 11,000 revolutions, and as you say they have front-wheel drive.
Organizers are planning to put the push to pass system in the cars and give 50 Hp more.

Here there are some of the history of the category, and in the end of the video you can see the new engine

In this moment all the schedule is in Argentine. The TC 2000 went to Brazil some times in the past ten years but the distances are too far and did not produce the expected media coverage.
In Uruguay raced 2 o 3 times in the Punta del Este street circuit. This is a Top coastal place of summer vacation. Many rich Argentinians spend the summer there. This is like Monaco for F1 or Long Beach for the Indy Cars. Therefore this was very good for the category. But for some motive that I do not know, the race did not realize more.
Also it is necessary to admit that the circuit was very narrow.

I guess that it didn't attract enough spectators to cover the expenses, or it lacked government support.

Also, Argentina is devaluating, so we are too expensive to them, and the economic and political relations are getting worse every day.

Spending the money to do the Buenos Aires race is clearly more profitable.

Toyota Team Argentina’s MatÃ*as Rossi launched into the lead of the Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship after victory at San Juan, whilst Peugeot Lo Jack Team’s Néstor Girolami was left crestfallen after another mechanical failure robbed the 23-year-old of another potential victory.

The next round of the Championship takes place at La Pampa in three weeks’ time on June 2nd.

I don't recall TC2000 cars being so unreliable the past few seasons. Is it the new engine, or that teams are pushing too hard?
