A Technical Question.
I was told a while ago that in 2009 all rallycross cars had to be fitted with a dry break coupling on the fuel line, so that samples could be taken.
I have since been told that it is only cars doing the MSA British Championship, and new build cars that need one. As I have not got my 2009 Blue Book yet, could someone who has got a copy clear this up for me please. |

Thanks for that guru, but I don't think I am up to ERC standard yet
It's more the UK position I am looking for |

Silver Bullet,
The 2009 Blue Book (Regulation C(b)19 has the new text for this year, faithfully reproduced below: "With the exception of cars competing in Sprint & Hill Climb roadgoing production category, cars competing in British and MSA Titled Championships for, and all new build cars for, Rallycross, Car Racing, Special Stage Rallying, Sprints and Hill Climbs must be equipped with the facility to enable a fuel sample to be taken. For fuel injected cars the facility must be a dry break fuel sampling coupling, approved by the FIA, Competitors to carry and make available a 300mm minimum length of hose to which, where necessary, the appropriate mating part is to be attached." For the Rallycross championship, this reads as mandatory for the cars in the British Championship, but advisory for the other cars/formulae. Hope this helps! |
