Ouch! Nasty one for Chilton. Thruxton is the enemy of the right-front tyre.

could it be say that its the curse of the hatchback as the 4/5 cars who have had tyre issues are hatchbacks

It's a problem for FWD cars, most of which are hatchbacks

Amazed the team's didn't work out how likely the tyres were to blow in practice. It's not as though the team's aren't aware how much Thruxton is a threat to tyres.

Short hatchbacks always seem to get them, no shock that the whole top 10 are long wheel base cars! Martin Johnson was the top coupe, and what a show Martin!

Edit: bar the SEAT. So well done Tom Boardman!

I missed the first race because I suddenly don't have ITV4. When I realised I tried to get on to my laptop, only to find Google Chrome had messed my computer up so much I couldn't log on. I've finally managed to get it to work thanks to someone on a microsoft forum, so I'm having to watch a rubbish feed online. This race better be damn good after all that.

Good old fashioned contact there between Neal and Plato. Plato loses out for a change - the Civic survived!

Collard on pole. How many corners do we reckon he'll manage before he ends up in a crash?

It's a shame the Forster cars aren't there, I was looking forward to seeing how they'd do in those cars, it's the first real independent entry with the BMW's, WSR and Motorbase seem a lot more professional and well funded. I'm really disappointed about how WSR have been going, I hope Collard can turn that around in the next race, and i REALLY hope they can get some money and Turkington back in the car next time out, really miss him.

I really think that if Turkington was going to do BTCC this season he'd have been out somehow this weekend. No point for someone like him to join after the first meeting. The European rounds of the WTCC would be my bet!

Whilst it was refreshing to hear Rob voice what a lot of people think with regards to some of Neal's moves, it was on the verge of pot-kettle-black territory. He's not the cleanest himself at times

Yep, not a case of Matt not knowing when to slow down and go for points instead of ruining both his and others races.

What was the reason for the safety car in race 3, Rob's car was left at the chicane in the position it ended up. Another 'Alan Gow spice the race up' safety car?

Race 3 was pretty good shame about unnecessary contact.
