The Formula One teams have decided to bring forward the 2008 engine homologation rules by a year. The change was just one of a number of key points relating to the future of the sport that were agreed at a meeting with the FIA in Paris on Monday.

Well the teams might have agreed to it, but we all know Bernie was the brainchild...

And in an attempt to further cut costs in the sport, a special Working Group is to be established to discuss means of restricting the use of wind tunnels, simulators (test rigs), simulations and, where appropriate, personnel numbers. It was also agreed that the 2008 regulation restricting testing to 30,000 km per team should also apply in 2007 by voluntary agreement.

What's the bet Ferrari will be the only team not to agree...

Why was it Bernie's idea? Surely you mean Max (and/or the teams).
