Picture books
I know this is a long shot.
Recently I came across this site: www.tomorrowscollectibles.co.uk which is selling reproductions of 5 pictures from about 1950. They show Bira in a 4.5 litre OSCA Johnny Claes in a yellow Talbot Lago Alfas at Monaco 4 CLT Maseratis Ferrari pit stop. I thought the pictures looked familiar. Then I remembered they had been in a board book I had been given as a kiddy. To my surprise I find I can recall almost all the pictures. The front cover showed the BRM, and other pictures included A GP Ferrari An ERA A Jaguar C-Type John Cobb's Railton Mobile Special land speed record holder Goldie Gardner's MG record breaker A Healey saloon making a pit stop at Spa The Appleyards in NUB 120 in the Alps Sydney Allard's Steyr-Allard hillclimb car That makes 14 pictures. Books are always in multiples of 8 so thetre must have been 16 pictures. So what there are 2 outstanding. It's so frustrating - I can't remember and no guesses ring a bell. If anybody knows I'd be grateful if they can tell me. Last edited by D-Type; 31 Mar 2003 at 21:50. |

I vaguely remember the book and a Porsche 356 springs to mind...but I'm not sure...
