Yes indeed fantastic news! Lets hope Guonon can extract some much needed pace from the car. We saw what he could make it do in 2003, hopefully he can do the same again in 2005. One thing is for sure Im expecting a much stronger showing this weekend than we saw at Monza.

Maybe a precursor to him joining them for Spa?

But there are no clashing dates between the FIA GT and LMES are there? I dont think that there are, so Guonon should be free to race where he wants providing it dosent conflict with his involvment in the LMES with Oreca.

yea. so maybe he will be in the car for the season. lets hope!
the more and more im thinking about it, the more and more ticked off i get about the ACO and their stupid rear wing rule.. I think that is the main cause for the Saleen's slow pace at Monza, more than anything. I guess we will have to wait for this weekend to see how it affects them on a tight/twisty track. Last year, they were perfect with the full size wing, now they have a wing nearly 1/3rd of that size.. thats a drastic change.. but anyways, lets hope that Jean-Marc can push the car to its max, and they can at least score some points. |

Autosport today reports that Uwe Alzen will partner Robert Lechner. Who's right? Or will it be Lechner/Gounon/Alzen?

maybe its Alzen/Becker and Gounon/Lechner
JM Gounon is offically in the 5 car with Robert. It says so on FIAGT.com Autosport has been wrong on things in the past. Or they just made a mistake (Uwe will partner Harold Becker).. |

Autosport are also reporting that Sebastian Stahl is in talks to partner Becker. It's all so confusing...

Stahl is also Michael Schumacher's half-brother.

I don't have Autosport to hand but it did say Stahl had some sportscar experience...? or something like that from 2003 I think... I'd need to grab the mag to be sure (but can't be bothered to move because I'm too comfy lol)

No, no sportscar experince from 2003. He apparntly raced in the ETCC in 2003 for 1 event. Dosent exactly sound like a top line driver, but dosent sound too bad either. Lets hope he can do a good job for Konrad.

he would probably be on the pace of Harold, which would be good. It would be a soild driver pairing, and without any mechanical problems, they should be able to finish in the points.

That was it!! a 2003 race in ETCC lol - oh well, it was on the same bill as a GT race - that'll have to be close enough lol. Still, if he's taken any hints and tips on board from his large-chinned champ relative then he shouldn't do too badly!
