New old car....

I recently decided my Mustang needed a freshening . I ordered some new seats (Cobra Daytona's all the way from jolly old England ) , a Momo Fighter steering wheel , and a good power polishing at a detailing shop .

My seats arrived last week . They are gorgeous !! I'm waiting to get some brackets made up . The wheel also arrived , and I'm just waiting for the adapter.

Today I took the car to the detailing shop ,and after the polish , the paint looks brand new !! Nintey-nine percent of the scratches are gone. The car really shines.

A neighbor saw me drive up , and thought I'd bought a new
car !!

I think I've fallen in love with the car again. It's like a whole new machine , I can't wait to drive it with the seats and wheel.

It has a car bra.

Why do many people on the North American continent use those?

The bra came with the car. They help protect the paint from stones and bugs . In Calgary during the winter gravel is used to aid traction when it snows because it's too cold for salt to work , and the graders cannot scrape up the ice.
Car hoods and windshields quickly become chipped and cracked. A bra can protect the hood and help deflect stones over the windshield.
Also a lot of the country roads (in my neck of the woods at least ) are still not paved . Every time you pass another vehicle , your car is showered in gravel .

FYI I took the bra off. I don't drive the Mustang on gravel roads or in winter, but I still have a lot of chips on the hood and glass....

alan, can't remember if I'd seen a picture of it before, but it definately is a sleeper, I imagined it with a rear wing, front air damn etc etc, but it doesn't look like it's got a sc and I-forget-just-how-many-ponies under the hood.

Alan,

Do you know anything about a Boss Mustang from 1993. Some 10litres of V8 and reportedly the fastest Ford built.

djb , I'm trying to keep it low key. I'm not a fan of big wings , etc.

Sorry , never heard of a 1993 Boss . The last big block was a 429 cubic inch Boss in 1970 . At least as far as I know..

I took the car drag racing last week. I ran it in total street trim : normal street tires set at 35 psi, almost full tank of gas,and didn't cool the engine between runs .
The best run was a traction limited 14.2/104 mph . No too bad considering the track is at 3600 feet above sea level .
This Friday I'm going for some good times : Full slicks , empty fuel tank , nice cool engine . I hoping for low 13's at 108-110 mph (and maybe a better driver too.. )

Ford SVT built a Boss engined Mustang for a shoot-out against a (Donovan engined) Camaro for Car&Driver magazine:

all the better for the look on someone's cocky face when their car gets gobbled up and spat out by yours...
