John Clayton should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What's the greatest ever competition car made by BMC/Leyland/Austin/MG Rover?

The voting on this page indicates that the Austin Mini is in the lead at present...

Don't want to appear rude, but it's a bit of a fatuous question, really. No contest.

If we're talking about the period since the formation of BMC, then the only competition for the Mini would be perhaps the Healey 3000, which was successful in both racing and rallying, and (stretching it) the Rover 3500 in racing.

The daft thing is, BMC were generally acknowledged as having the best Competitions Department of the major manufacturers, just a useless range of cars to choose from.

And where is the Austin Healey? It is not even an option and yet it was one of the best rally cars in the day with Pat Moss at the wheel.

There were drivers of Healeys who were a lot quicker than Pat.

Yeah, the Healey's a good call -why not nominate it? The list isn't exhaustive, and it does allow people to add more cars to it...
