1970 Laguna Seca Can-Am

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place to search for photos of the 1970 Laguna Can-Am?

This was not long after Bruces death and Denny had just burned his hands at Indy, so it was a fairly sad group, they had Peter Gethin in the second car.

I was 18 years old, my friend and I got there very early on Sunday morning, McLaren Team arrived and started to unload.....two pick-up trucks with an M8D behind each on trailers.

Times were different then, we asked if we could help and they said sure. To make a long story short we ended up spending the day in the Mclaren pit, helping out a little, going for food and hanging with Peter Gethins beautiful girlfriend.

They said we could stay in their pit once they roped it off, but warned us to stay away from Teddy!

There were many photographers and hundreds of photos taken that day, I'm sure many of them would show Doug and myself........

Thanks in advance!

I am going to move this to the History forum, that may open your luck.

If you are on Facebook, there is a Can-Am group there with loads of photographs.

Here is the page for the race from Racing Sportscars-http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Laguna_Seca-1970-10-18.html

Also, you may want to search the Sports Illustrated archives, I have found some great racing things there.

i would also suggest searching flickr and google, etc for images too.

it might be worth contacting the people at the track, too. maybe they might know where to look.
