I am surprised at your need to ask.
On 2 separate occasions i have witnessed GT be less than a gentleman/sportsman/decent person, once at a V8 Supercar meeting and at a private function.
I also thought it was common knowledge that he is well known for his arrogance. I am a fan of his driving and racing talent only.

Now back on topic.

Nice to see Simonsen's laptimes being discussed on RPM last night.

Maybe it was just the way I heard it but Bairdo sounded like he would be up there and with Tony not having any interest in the event thus far one wonders who he would race with?

He'd be quite a handy asset to any team.

One/Ten are the broadcaster so would imagine Bairdo would be involved with that unless he gets a very good seat offered.

I wouldn't discount Mr Quinn from entering just yet...
Would love to see a few more Aussie entries. When do entries close?

No, not really. He said in an interview on IPL that he didn't like the regs etc for cars like the Aston but that they might enter one of their other cars (like an Evo).

I think the dummy spit comment is closer to the mark. It would be great to see Mr Quinn turn up in his Porsche, with Baird. By his comments and body language in that interview, he's not happy with the B12 stealing the thunder away from his Aus GT series. Seems rather simple to me, in that the Bathurst 12 Hour is now an international event that will only get stronger, and Quinn's Aus GT is a great place for him and his rich mates to race their nice cars in their comfort zone here in Australia. We all know and understand how GT racing exists and survives on the participation of the rich gentlemen drivers but it's a bit strange really, as both the B12 and Aus GT, should compliment each other and the Quinns acquitted themselves rather well in this years race.
Don't know whether or not he got rid of his Porsche, but from Pat Longs comments of a month or so ago, re looking at getting a drive at B12, that would be a great combination if he, Baird and Quinn could work something out. Not holding my breath though.

AudiSport Team Phoenix lineups confirmed:

Interesting to note Jöns will occupy a seat for 2012. He's run pretty well with (and without) Mies in ADAC Masters.
Would have loved to have seen a Mies/Jöns/Ludwig (or Klingmann) lineup.

No changes otherwise.
Surprised O'Young was favoured over Basseng, though.

Maybe Basseing will be in one of the Black Falcon Mercedes as he does have strong ties to the team?

Tony Quinn's issue with the 12 Hour may have a lot to do with the fact that the GT Championship has its first round the weekend after the 12 Hour and the contract to race at Adelaide was signed last year.It would be unlikely that any cars would do 12 Hours at Bathurst and then be able to start practice at Adelaide 4 days later. He would be trying to persuade Australian GT competitors not to race at Bathurst to protect his own event.

Mark 'Steady' Eddy will jump from his factory Audi at Bathurst, into his own car at Adelaide. Not too difficult to do.

Roger 'Scud' Lago might find it harder, only having one Lambo in the shed. But if it doesnt get crashed in the 12 hour, he could show up at Adelaide no worries.

The 458 boys wont run in the championship anyway. And prob wont last the 12 hour either.

Not too hard.

Yes, 100% true. Still unsure whether Mal was given a valid reason as to why not....

It's eligible, and as far as I'm aware they were entering it. Organisers definately received an EOI from the McLeod's.
At this stage, organisers are hopeful of a field between 30-35 cars, based on entries received and other EOI's. Pretty good, any improvements on numbers compared to last year is a step forward for the event.
