edit: I have no problems with fees but I'm not sure if this is the best appraoch for an "emerging" racing series and for attracting more viewers... Apart from that, I'm afraid they just turn the old stream into cash without any improvements (e.g. to the video quality) etc.

I have always been a big supporter of the WEC but that is not a smart decision.

This is the first season they could really get some major exposure thanks to Porsche but instead they're locking people out.

Rather dumb move. This would have made sense in a few years when the championship has established a fan base but right now they're not in the position to charge for a stream imo.

Promoters of Motorsport series must live on another planet. I can't see how this is going to grow the series - they already made a mistake in having a separate contract for Le Mans; which Eurosport cover. Surely you sell rights as a 'Championship'. The ACO have a lot to learn on promoting their series.

Is it possible for a single-race entry other than Lemans?

I'm thinking that MMPR could run the Austin event in WEC, along with likely ESM.

Yes, the WEC allows additional entries at all rounds but Le Mans.

I've had a mess around, it's 16.44 for the season, live timing, there also appears to be a live track map, showing car's positions.(well according to a post on MWM fb page anyway) can't actually find that myself.

hmm the news post on fiawec.com says now the race is available on it's website with live and timing etc. I would find it odd that now you would have to pay for this with such a late announcement.

And how would you pay for this, i dont have a credit card, only paypal is my hope then on this short notice.

There will be a new name for the event, which will be known as the Lone Star Le Mans weekend, reflecting the spirit of Le Mans in the Lone Star State of Texas.

Both the TUDOR Championship and FIA WEC races will take place on Saturday 20 September, to provide two separate races and 8 hours and 45 minutes of endurance racing in one day. The penultimate round of the TUDOR Championship will start at 12h05 and will last 2 hours and 45 minutes. From 15h00 the pitlane will be transformed to prepare for the start of the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas. The race will start at 17h00 and will run into the night under the lights, with the chequered flag being waved at 23h00.

That sounds like a incredible event. Think it's great to have them on the same day and have the WEC run in to the night.

This sounds excellent, i just hope the attendance will be higher this year so they don't cancel the event.

The track is really growing on me and it would be a shame to lose it. Doesn't take away that another round in America would be nice for WEC though.

Just downloaded the app,has crashed a few times and kept on rebooting my iPad.i had to erase it and re download it.seems stable now and very impressive miles better than tusc's.$21 isn't bad for "premium" if I can charge it to my iTunes and run everything on my iPad it may be doable.
