Kimi isn't 18 until August, so pretty sure that's what is holding that back. They'd need to change the rules there, he has enough superlicense points just is underage.

The rules were changed in 2016.

The deal makes sense. The problem for Williams is that for season after season they have paired one reasonable driver (Russell and Albon) alongside another one who has completely failed to perform. So, I am interested in who they get in alongside him.

Antonelli might make sense if he has a good season in F2, if Williams are happy to be a feeder team. If Williams have grander plans, then there are plenty of current F1 drivers out of contract at the end of this season, but that would be a change of direction for the team.
