Well remembered, that was the promise. There hasn't been anything official yet.
Perhaps no one has signed on the dotted line yet so they can't 100% confirm. |

No it'll be a big event
I would have thought they'd want to replace it with a championship scoring round? |

I dont think they will at this stage . Lots of people have expressed an interest in doing Petit , so I reckon thats what will happen .

It was either Estoril or Anderstorp, but lots of teams expressed an interest to go to PLM.

There was some discussion about this a little while ago on the ALMS forum. I believe the answer was 48. But I'm not positive.

If the likes of Pescarolo, Zytek, Creation, Courage, Rollcentre and others made the trip it could be an (even more) awsome event! However, teams, drivers and sponsors have commited to a full LMS season and there won't be enough space for all of them at PLM. I'm of the opinion that the ACO really do have an obligation to arrange a fifth race in Europe to complete the calendar. Estoril seems to be favourite amongst the teams, I hope the ACO can deliver!! |

I agree . weve already had a shortened race by 8000 litres , one more less would be a little too much . Could Brands do it ? That would be cool .

I honestly think it would not be in the best interest of the LMS and their teams if PL was made the 5th round of the championship. However, I do think the LMS should try to coordinate the last event to aid the LMS teams that want to go overseas and do the PLM and maybe Laguna. Insteas of having the last round a week before PLM maybe having it a couple weeks prior to PL to allow the teams that want to do both the opportunity to do so.

Anyway, Anderstorp sounds cool - I didn't know they even held races there anymore! Still, maybe just getting a few more cars at PLM would be the sensible option... |

Hello
Brands would be great but how about Zandvoort (perhaps a bit small for everyone) or Brno (bigger but would they get a crowd). The ACO should try to fix up a fifth race for everyone and try to support those who want to do PLM. Nick |

Yeah , I agree . It has the lot , elevation changes , fast bits , slow bits , trees ..... it had character . i saw the 86 & 88 Group C races there . Magic . RLR won with Brilliant Bob in their 956 . That was my first race , so I will always hold Brands Hatch as 1 of my favs overall . Would be magic to see it back with Lms though ..... But does it have the capacity to run a Lms race now ? |

The only problem with Brands Hatch is that it's not in Northamptonshire.
Just too far away for a lot of people. |

Hello
Brands might be a little way away from Northamptonshire but that didn't stop the huge crowds turning up for the Group C races back in the 80's. I can well remember the very wet 82 race. Huge crowd there and a fantastic race. Same for the rest of the races at Brands throughout the 80's. Mind you I did quite a bit of travelling around Europe to watch Group C so "distance" wasn't a problem for me then. A huge grid of LMP1's, 2's, GT1's and GT2's would be an inspiring sight racing around Brands Hatch. Nick |

Well I don't suppose huge crowds are a problem for a circuit so close to London.
It's just that because of it's location, motorsport fans who live in "the provinces" will more often than not favour Silverstone instead. But it would make for a good 1000km on the telly! |

i'm guessing the ACO could always take it back to the original LMS race site and have a race on the bugatti circuit.

hello
The Le Mans Bugatti circuit would be nice as it is not so far to go if you want to watch the race. What about Paul Ricard, which was in the original FIA GT calendar? The teams have tested there, its a good circuit and hopefully the weather would be great. Nick |
