ATF should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I haven't seen any DTM coverage this year - does anyone know if ITV4 are showing the highlights again? I haven't seen them advertised anywhere.

Unless you're in the UK (or a decent list of other countries) unfortunately.
I tuned in over the weekend, but...

Not sure why they'd block the UK unless it was being shown on TV here.

It's on BT Sport / ESPN

Coincidentally the Blancpain GT series had also geo-blocked their webstream and that's also on ESPN. Am I spotting a pattern?

If you did your German homework when you were in school then you'll have no problems watching at SportSchau.de, which doesn't seem to georestrict DTM broadcasts.

That's what you learned German for? To watch the horrible ARD broadcast?

german sportscar commentary sucks.

The only guy that ever produced a genuine smile or excitment in me was Rainer Braun, and even he wasn't always on top of his game.

My school didn't do German, if there's a French broadcast of it I'll give it a go though

The sad part is that there are some good PA announcers like Lars Gutsche and Sven Wauer (sp?)... but they never get any TV gigs. Also, I kinda liked the old Champcar crew with Stefan Heinrich and whatshisface... though I was an impressionable teenager back then and thought Heinrich was immensely funny, so maybe I am seeing things through rose-tinted glasses.

This is true. I'm sure there was almost an entire lap without any commentary at one point!

Shouldn't this be an indicator for good coverage?

To be fair, the official German DTM commentators (Those directly hired by the DTM) are okay. Stefan Heinrich (Eurosport's former Indy/ChampCar commentator) is also doing some DTM here and there, but the other guys are also okay. But I'm really hoping that the DTM gets a new TV deal for 2015. Kabel Eins should be a good partner in my opinion, given that they've shown the ADAC GT Masters for quite a long time now. Plus, we'd get Jacques Schulz as DTM commentator.

But moving from Das Erste to Kabel Eins would that not be a defeat for DTM?
Correct me if I am wrong but Kabel Eins is not a "premium" commercial channel like RTL or Sat1.

Except for football I am not a fan of German commentary.

Indeed it is. But I'd rather see DTM on a second-tier TV channel that tries to make something out of it.* At the moment though, Das Erste isn't doing much with DTM...except signing Norbert Haug as their new expert...that isn't even commentating.

But yeah, when it comes to commentating auto racing, the best folks speak english

* Of course, Kabel Eins and Sat1 belong to the same group, so it won't be too difficult to promote the DTM to Sat1.

Not if it is sunny in Budapest. We've seen what the Mercs can do in Hockenheim in dry, and they have race-by-race success ballast now!

http://www.motorsport.com/dtm/news/n...by-cbs-sports/

The question is, will it be aired on THE CBS, or just the CBS Sports Network (Probably the latter)? Nonetheless, it's a good deal for the DTM and CBS has shown in the past that they can cover auto racing (NASCAR, CART). Here's hoping that they'll hire actual Americans to commentate the races, like Bob Varsha.

Zhuhai is good for overtaking with a stop-and-go layout. Braking and acceleration will be decisive. Good call by ITR I'd say.
Also is there any update on performance ballast for Norisring?
5kg for every BMW and another 5kg for ever BMW in the top ten?

Couldn't it be that TCT are reading too much into that press release? Maybe it was just a blunder by Audi's PR department. Then again, if there was a delegation from Zhuhai at Budapest, there might some truth into that story.

Mercedes 1-2 in qualifying, I really think that the success ballast in making race predictable.
