Can't believe they used the BMW's for support - great series but definitely a club sport as the cars are old. Mind you, so are pre-65's and V8 Muscle Cars and I love them... Go the Custaxi!
I tend to agree, and I run a BMW! It is definitely club racing, and the competitors know that. I am not sure why the committee decided running at a Tier 1 event would be a good idea. But with over 100 entry fees, I can see the attraction for the race organisers!

Sad news is I know of 2 NZV8 entries who ran at puke not going to Ruapuna.
MSNZ is begging for them to go to make minimum grids of 16.

If no numbers and race is pulled then what for NZ v8s until NZST arrive and drive?

Wow... sounds like the NZST are going to be more popular than the Aussie Supercars. Maybe in 2012 they could be a support class for Bathurst ?

Similar car, similar drivers...Sounds like NZST are going to be as popular as NZV8's was/is...

(small caveat: I do think that NZST are doing a substantially better job of promoting their series than TMC, so I wouldn't be shocked if the class grows beyond that.)

agree! the ST boys and girls do do a good job updating their sites and do try to keep their fans informed. TMC really need to pull their finger out on that front!

Hmm, another 'Name' for the series. Looks to be gathering momentum. Wonder who the other car is for?

On the released drivers list on their website, only one is an out and out Aussie (McConville). We've seen plenty of Aussies run the NZV8's in the past too.

One would think when the endurance portion rolls around, we will see plenty of Aussies, not sure there is a big enough pool of V8 pilots in NZ to cover the 32 spots is there? Especially if the NZV8 drivers don't want to be seen playing on the other side of the fence.

Nah don't want skaife racing, he'd win by a nose every race.

what is the expected outcome by the powers that be if Fred Bloggs has the money and means (and desire) to run both series, and indeed does so?

Powers that be of which series? Paul Manuell has run the first round of the NZV8's not sure if he intends to continue.
