Who would hold the final cards in making the decision to allow Stefan in, either through the soon to be vacated slot or buy-out of USF1? Is there anything hinted at in the Concorde Agreement that would give the teams a chance to block any FIA moves to replace a team?

Come on Bernie sort this mess out, we want that Toyota on the grid and this US F1 mess stopped now. Plus it would be nice to see JV back in the Toyota and of course Lopez in the Campos. Im sure Bernie could do it easily if he wished, he runs the show after all.

The suspense is killing me.
Certainly, Bernie wanting Stefan (and the remnants of the Toyota program) in the show is contrary to what Frank Williams (and his peers on the grid) want.

Campos has cars and a driver slot. USF1 has no cars ready and one driver.....
It isn't rocket science to see how it could take place but will the protagonists sort it out. Hurley has the money for USF1 and if he did what Parente did at Campos he could simply move the whole team forward.
Take the company over and roll it into a partnership/amalgamation with Stefan GP

If a partnership use Cologne as the European base rather than Spain in 2010 and work on a car in Charlotte for 2011 if he is serious about GP racing and running a design team (Toyota won't develop a car for 2011).

Here is what I edited out:

Quote:
That's a very good question. However, I'm wondering if it's USF1 that has the problem, and not Stefan.

Early on, Bernie came out with his widely-publicized opinion that USF1 wouldn't make the grid. That came at a critical time for USF1, right when they were seeking sponsorship. Can you imagine a prospective sponsor's reaction to USF1's sponsorship request after reading that opinion by "the big guy?"

....

(Now that I think of it, figuring out what FOTA might want is simple. I doubt if they want either team to make the grid.)....
How is that even remotely what I wrote? I wrote:

Quote:

I said the real issue is what Frank Williams wants. He and 'his peers' are not FOTA, they are not the FIA, and they are not Bernie. They are the mid-pack - and lower, pre-2010 - teams that will welcome USF1 and its Cosworth engine, and will do anything in their power to block a resurrection of the Toyota program and its powerplant. Why? You'll find your answer in the way funds are distributed to teams in F1. Suffice it to say that Frank could take a 'hit' in the tens of millions of dollars if Stefan makes the grid instead of USF1.

So my point is that you are 180 degrees wrong. The problem IS Stefan, NOT USF1. What's going to happen here is even if USF1 loses its grid spot it WILL NOT go to Stefan if Frank and his friends has anything to do with it.

USF1 and Stefan rolled together make the grid for Bahrain?.
Trouble is if the car is a Toyota isn't it subject to recall under US regulations?

Nothing like a good round of upper crust humor.

Do you suppose that's what was being loaded into the clave? It wasn't a mock tub, it was a giant baguette?

That being the case, we all missed the day of the roll out.
