They sell it in Waitrose here, it is one of my favourite cheeses. Needs to be left out of the fridge to 'flow'

If we face the Michelin stand, two solutions :
on its left, as last year's meeting ;I'm not sure there will be enough space around this tree because other stands will be built next to it. I suggest to keep the same place, depending on the width of the place left by the Michelin stand. |

As always, aim to meet at roughly the same spot - we should find somewhere large enough in the vicinity....

I agree same area as last year, we will be on good terms with the michelin people by then so can't see any problem.
good mini meeting yesterday with a fine turn out although i think the main event should be a little bigger this year. Smell of cheese should ensure we have an area to ourselves but after a while the michelin people might decide to turn the fire hoses on us if the wind is blowing in their direction |

Just invested in a lump of organic mature cheddar in a thick covering of red wax, should keep it fresh until saturday meeting, It is unfortunately in a very obvious heart shape but i am sure no one will notice, just got to find some Stilton in a pot with wax seal

Getting Ready for the Departure
Have made my list and checked it more than twice. I just got back from work travel and was catching up on the recent threads and posts. I wanted to check to see what the status was regarding the pit/team visit that typically happens on Friday.
I'm bummed that I missed the Michelin visit sign up, but that's alright - it's my first visit to the 24 so I'll be suffering from experiential overload anyway... Brian |

I saw the post on another thread regarding not allowing glass bottles. I hope I don't get stopped, I've already packed a six pack of bottled beer for the trip over.
I was most likely going to walk from Porsche Curves campsite down the road behind the carting complex and in through the entrance near the big Danish campsite. Hopefully the security check there will be light. Do they actually check backpacks on the way in? I don't remember if mine was checked or not the one other time I was there. |

It was very different in 2009 going to Le Mans. arrived at Newhaven and the security man asked us where we were going so we said to Le Mans where we are camping for the race. He then apologised for having to ask us, but were we carrying any sharp knives and before we could say anything he said, of course you are as you are going camping. He asked if we had any gas bottles in the car and again answered for us and then sent us on our way. Sean |

Although attempts have been made, as far as I'm aware, it has not been possible to arrange a visit to a team this year. Those who typically do can therefore have a bit of a break in 2014.....
