Strad, not to be macabre, but your "saddest" picture is from Monaco(?) - what was the incident?
And on a lighter note, what is with the guy being led away in your "funniest?" Thanks. |

I think the Monaco picture must have been Bandini's tragic crash in 1967:

Keep them coming, I love them all - Just remember, there are great pictures that aren't crashes too
Steve, I like the picture you took at Zandvoort, I also like the Gilles pictures some one posted. Here are three photos from me, all from the mid 1960's. First up, the contrast in this picture is fantastic, man and machine: |

Don't know who is in this picture, but from the artistic point of view this is one of the best photo's I've ever seen! Thank you Steven!

Red, it's a great shot, I am almost certain it's Jos testing the Honda test car in 1999 (?)

As a subscript with strad's 'OLD ON THERE MATE!-picture:
Perhaps the high point of the 1963 season was Clark and the Dutch police getting into a Serious Disagreement at Zandvoort. Clark was watching the opposition at the Hunze Rug corner when he was accosted by a policeman demanding an explanation of what did he think he was doing there? Where was his circuit pass? Was the young man trespassing? Clark took exception to the attention of the by now several policemen and when one grabbed him, Clark resisted. Only Fate intervened to spare him being clubbed about the head and ears. It took some fancy footwork by the track president, J. H, van Haaren, to prevent Clark from spending time in the local detention facilities - including the race! |

Dino IV, thanks for the explanation! To everyone else, especially those who provided the pictures, it once again reminds me of the beuaty of the sport that always sems to transcend personalities, politics and even tragedy. Thank you for reminding me why I fell in love with auto racing (and F1) in the first place.

Alright DNQ, I insist on an answer! How did you duplicate Mr. Random Assortment of Keystrokes' forum name??
This has been more mysterious to me than the machinations of the Mind of Ecclestone! |
