One more for tonight.
He was in that same rookie class in '84... But he and Senna were in a class of their own that rainsoaked day at Monaco. One can only image the battles we were robbed of when he tried to squeeze his 962 under Ickx's going thru Eau Rouge. _Really_ robbed. The battles these two could have had would have made the Senna-Prost rivarly look like child's play. Just imagine if Gilles had still been around to mix it up with these two! Sigh... Sadly history, especially in racing, is full of such "What-Ifs".
