kurtiejjj should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sorry, forget my comment I misread the topic it was FA SA instead of FA US Stupid c**k I am, I think I need another coffee!

What I do know for sure is that Maurer had the plan to go into F1 with BMW, I read a prototype was even made, which was based on a MM81 chassis

Sorry again, just forget it guys!

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
2 cars went to japan 81 an 83 models
6 to ZA for Sigma series

rest stayed in euro land hillclimbing and Interseries racing
never heard of F1 plan as by late 82 willi maurer was starting to get money problems and the 83 car was the last season and it all ended early

In 1982 there were drawings of a Maurer F1 in several german motorsport magazines. I think Willy Maurer wanted to attract sponsorship attention using the momentum of the Bellof hype in Germany back then.
I have seen pictures of a non ground-effect Maurer car built/modified to fit a 6 cyl. BMW engine. This car was tested at Hockenheim.
Regarding that it wasn´t a wing car this must have been in 1983.

Am I right?
MM81-01 Elgh
MM81-02 Guerrero [chassis number observed at two British F2 races, including Thruxton, and marked on programme] said to go to ZA for Tony Martin
MM81-03 Winkelhock [observed at Donington] Was this the car that then went to ZA for Tilanus?

4 1980
3 1981

I just remembered that there was a Maurer for at the Techno Classica for sale a few weeks. The mm81, forgot to try and take a look at chassis number. It was the car with the orange nose which was used a few years ago for some kind of university project. Price tag said 40k euros, and I'm not sure if the engine was included, it was unrestored that's for sure.

yes i know the car i had to sit on my hands 3 years ago when it was for sale at FFord money!! but i did not have the space to keep the car OR the truck full of spares
ive been trying to track it down via the original owner for the last 18 months

my german friend looked at the car and laughed at his pathetic price !!
all the time the man has a hole in his ass he will not sell the car at that level thats what i would expect to pay for turn key race car

40.000 Euro sounds like a bargain to me

At the Jim Clark Revival at Hockenheim a week ago, there was a Danner March 822 raceready offered for only 120.000 Euro

I don't understand the price either, it looked really tatty! For that money you could have a car in much better condition, or go to driftwood, buy a march and you still have lots of cash left.

I read somewhere before in this thread there was some trouble with spares. It had to do with that TCT Swiss guy didn't it?

MM81-02 complete with BMW M12 left the UK yesterday and has gone to a collector in Europe.
