I wonder, has Steve Neal been telling porkys and the Dynamics Honda really is a works entry?

I can't see any reason for Chevrolet to enter with no competition, otherwise.

We should have a decent manufacturers/constructors championship this year, with hopefully four different entries. RML/Chevy, Dynamics/Honda, Arena and hopefully 888.

Nice to see Chevrolet involved. Would love to see a renaissance of sorts in terms of manufacturer support. Thing is though, is that is works support a good thing or a bad thing? I think when we had 8-10 works teams it was a good thing as they were all pretty much on a level playing field, but 1-2 works teams vs a load of privateers, not sure if that is the same thing...

If a casual viewer is going to turn on ITV4 and see some guy named "Neal" in a Civic with "Honda Racing" emblazoned down the side of it and referred to as "Team Honda" on the timing, then Chevy UK might as well make sure "Chevrolet" is on the official team names for the year I guess!

Probably not much more in the way of "surprises", apart from Airwaves confirming their drivers (Jackson, Kane?) and maybe an MG (KWR?)

i think its fantastic, this could be the building block for a few more.
I think next year we could have around 4-5 manufacturers
because manufacturers tend to come in groups as theres a knock on affect, when 2 or 3 commit, 2 or 3 more come along to accept the challenge laid down.

2011
-Chevrolet UK
-Honda Racing
-Ford/Aon (if ford decide to put the support in)
-Volvo (they have pulled the plug this year, but have not ruled out next year)
-Vauxhall (with the sudden inlfux in manufacturers, they may return)

Unless there's something else completely that we arn't aware of. But yeah, strange one. But to me, it looks like we might see a few more manufacturers brought back to the sport over the next few years, espacially with the NGTC rules.

I think it is great that RML have managed to pull it together with Silverline and Chevrolet UK, the racing in BTCC is really good, this could be the begining of a long relationship with the Championship and a catylst for more manufacturers. Jason Plato is going to be interesting, bit different to last year he needs to win it, Alex has shown well in testing i thought.

Isn't it all exciting?

Mind you, with new rules next year that means manufacturers would have to build new cars, maybe chevrolet are only entering because they have last years WTCC Cruze's (So doesn't need to spend to develop new cars). I suppose it depends on how well the BTCC gives exposure to them, but i wouldn't automatically presume we're going back to the manufacturer support that was around in the Supertouring days, or even that well have any manufacturers left next year.

That's me being pessimistic though, if i'm being optimistic i can see Honda, Ford and Volvo both getting involved, and maybe Kia, but i wouldn't think that Vauxhall would return at the minute, with a GM brand only just joining. But At this moment in time, it looks like the BTCC's fortunes are changing

As you like it... I'm in possession of factual details to back up what I claimed, so I'm comfortable about that.

I have a feeling we may have a Fabrizio Giovanardi confirmed driving something tomorrow. He hasn't got anything lined up, and he isnt the sort of guy to go a season without a drive.
