I had a pheasant go through the screen and smash the rear view mirror into my face. It finished up in the back so smashed up I could'nt even eat it.

Well a few months ago I was driving along a country road with the windows 1/3 cracked immediately after sunset. All the sudden I heard this huge bang and I was like what the hell was that? I knew I didn't run anything over and was only going about 35mph. I look over and there is an OWL in the passenger seat. I stopped and pulled him out and his eyes were wide open. I guess he broke his neck flying into the A pillar and dropped into the passenger seat. I felt sorry for the little bugger.

Leighton Irwin should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

We were just moving into a new house when there was a bang on a window. Dead Partridge and no stove. Another time one of our Cockatiels was sitting in a window when thump. Went outside and there was a rather stunned Owl. He was OK.
Deer tend to move more at dusk and dawn. The also head for their wintering grounds in late fall and come out in the spring so those are the worst times.
Moose and Deer both gather beside the highways in the spring for the salt that is dumped on the road during the winter.
