1975 Group 7
Can anyone tell me how many different engine displacement classes FIA Group 7 include in 1975 (and before 1975)? According to what I've read, group 7 (prior to the inception of group 6 in 1976) was a libre class which included engine displacements of all sizes. Is this correct?

Would it be safe to assume then that all these cars with their various engine displacements raced together at the same time? Or did they break out the larger displacement cars into feature races? If so where did the split occur?

Would Group 7 be the basis of Can Am?

I'm told that Can-Am was the North American version of FIA Group 7.
Would it be safe to assume then that all these cars with their various engine displacements raced together at the same time? Or did they break out the larger displacement cars into feature races? If so where did the split occur? |

The actual Can-Am, as opposed to the USRRC, had one class with a minimum of 2,000 cc.
The United States Road Racing Champioship, at least for a time, had over and under two liter classes. |

The 1977-1986 Can-Am had two classes, one up to 2 litres and the other up to 5 litres.
