Look, the list of disaffected entrants isn't short, so it would sound like throwing darts at the wall at this point. Job and Risi are my thoughts given everything being said, but are those really bombshell, or just the typical hyperbola?

Notice what thread I posted this in? If it's what I think it is… Hint - not Magnus.
I know you posted it here, and I think it's most likely to affect this series, but looking at Dagys twitter, I don't see anything that indicates it is TUSCC.

Think prototype.
EDIT - it used to be fun pre-merger ALMS days when I would hear news I had to sit on regarding new entries. Believe me, I take no joy in playing this game but don't want to burn confidences. These are people who make their living in and from the paddock. Interestingly, the two sources I have that are close to the series itself have gone silent lately...

They really should dump the Skyactiv diesel. Dust off the RX8 three rotors, throw them in the back of the Lola's and play.

Uh. No.

I'll leave it as a major team is considering leaving. It's up to the series to figure out how to keep them, yes it relates to BoP and how Sebring ended. If they do leave, the money goes too...WEC and ELMS ARE in play.

That's easy then, ESM. They were chasing for the win and complained after the race about not being able to keep up on the straights with the DP's.

OK, so thanks for giving us enough clues to work out that it's ESM .

Which, in my opinion, is harsh if it's BoP related but they must have more sway with the series than most. Here's hoping they don't leave; if they do then I guess it's NASCAR bailout time or no more big time US series next year.

Again, that's your own deduction....

The idea of sitting out the remainder is just too keen. There is a very high probability we don't see Pickett back this year too. A huge part of the issues is that many ALMS team are efusing to be screwed with. Pickett bailing may have been a game of "you first" and now that the ball has dropped...

I'd suggest things may keep going.

I think it has come to a point to where there may need to be three pro classes: P2, DP and GTLM

So our worst fears are being realized (assuming ESM leaves and Pickett stays away for the remainder), we are faced with Grand Am 2.0. Ya, ya ya, there's GTLM, but when GTLM is surrounded by nothing but crap then what's the point???

In the first race in the high-downforce configurations ESM cars lead a third of the laps, set fastest lap, and finished 2nd and 5th, and the P2 teams all quit because that's not good enough.

I think the whole thing has to do with them not being able to pass the DP cars easily. If I remember correctly ESM stated they had to take some chances to pass the DP's due to the top speed advantage.

This isn't the thread to get into that, so I won't. I just hope they sort out their differences, because it's good seeing those HPDs running and to see professionally run and driven P2s.

Frankly it isn't good enough. The BoP still heavily favors the DP. There have been NO post-Sebring adjustments. With LB being a torque-favorable track, a DP will win there again.

Again, as stated a million times before. Maybe it's just best to sit it out and see what comes of the remainder of the year. There was a ton of dissention in the paddock at Daytona, at Sebring it was nearly edible talking to certain people...

I've had a few conversations with people today who have said that TUSCC is begging them to stay....but yet they know they are going to get screwed with BoP or officiating...I dunno. Also, forget not that NO changes have taken place in the race official camp...What would you do when spending 3+million??

With ESM out, are they going to race their 458's in PWC? With Muscle Milk out and their connection with Nissan, are they going to run the GTR in PWC? PWC is running at Long Beach and they could just still go but run in PWC. That would just show TUSK that PWC is the way to go.

ESM isn't out----and if they would leave, it's game over in the US. Possibly altogether. Similar to Pickett, European markets might be a better place to spend money.

Pickett doesn't have a GTR....their GTD/GTE program is on hold....AKA not happening until IMSA gets their heads surgically removed from...uh...well. Yeah.
