Its a while ago, but the first few Revival meetings were a fairly close knit 'specialist' affairs.
I'd like to see the 72nd succeed and become a regular proper club meeting which reflects what was, equally it would be nice to see the Revival become a proper International meeting . . . . to reflect what actually happened at Goodwood in period, there's no problem selling tickets, perhaps its time to up the ante regarding entrants to ensure its longevity. They're both completely different meetings in may different respects. |

£20 for the day sounds reasonable seeing as most clubbies are between 10 and 15. As Joe stated above its NOT the revival that's a special case and maybe worth the money. I think its £11 for our opening round at Donington with the BARC and you will get to see some good racing and some manic Thunder Saloons as well.

my point being the number of spectators who are price dependant (within obvious reason) is actually quite small... Goodwood do the theatre of racing very well so people are happy to pay. Having said that JR is correct, GRRC need to be careful that they do not dilute the brand.

Well in this particular case it doesn't matter how much or little is charged because the majority ain't invited anyhow!

It's disappointing that the Competitors Dept at Goodwood post at the other place but not on here despite many entrants, drivers and marshals being on this site.
The majority of the other lot are rivet counters but in their defence it's the most informative place for historical reference. You miss the pleasant cut and thrust of our dynamic threads when messing on there. |

We're British!
We do things like that. Not sure to many people have knocked it? Can 't blame people for saying its expensive and questioning the wisdom of holding it in the middle of Winter. |

Far from diluting things I think GRRC are trying to create an exclusive brand. It is being promoted using the old Brooklands 'the right crowd and no crowding' which probably says it all.
I think the entry price is steep but have you seen how much it costs for a gig with a headline act or a champions league match? Given Goodwood's track record I am sure it is an event not to be missed. |

Sorry bladders, I don't see that discussing spectator restrictions and cost for those invited to spectate is knocking the event.... The fact that the entry criteria has now been widened to include past Revival and FOS ticket buyers would suggest that the point of view is shared by more than just tenthers. |

I see that TSL are scheduled to do the timing for this event. They normally do the Goodwood events and publish the results daily (plus live timing I think). So presumably the results will be available on the day unless Goodwood try to restrict access to that!

No Mike, we got back here on Sunday but our body-clocks are still stuck on Australia time! Waking up at all hours at the moment but plenty to do - in the six weeks over there I appear to have taken almost 4000 photos so lots to process! A few cars (race and car show) amongst them .

£20 is an unreasonably low figure to watch something of this quality. £40/£50 is more like it. Did you see the article recently that since Waitrose started giving away free coffee they were getting "the wrong type" of customer? No danger of that at Goodwood FISCRacer I hope Lord M's minions didn't see your pics and film on Facebook, don't want the forelock-tuggers seeing you enjoying yourselves don't'cha know? |

Ah well does this mean someone is actually taking notice of some of the stuff written here and no Max £40/£50 IMHO is way too expensive unless the entrants are not having to pay to enter then maybe, sorry have to disagree, CTCRC have been putting this sort of thing on for years this is nothing new.

The list of championships: Thermex Classic Saloon and Historic Touring Car Championship Autoglym Pre ‘83 Touring Car Championship SVG Motorsport Pre ‘93 Touring Car Championship Performancecar.com Classic Thunder Championship Burton Power Blue Oval Saloon Series CTCRC Pre 2005 Production Car Series then I looked again onto the GRRC link to their meeting: http://www.goodwood.co.uk/members-me...the-races.aspx and I think you will agree that whilst CTCRC sounds like a great club to race with it would be doing them a disservice to be compared with this.... and that is why most agree that the Goodwood ticket price should be at a premium - how much more is open to discussion |

I think that it's good news that Goodwood has apparently opened out the ticket availability. I don't have a problem with the price positioning (you can choose to pay or not - simple laws of economics/marketing) but I did have a problem with the restrictive availability of tickets to non GRRC members .... and yes, I know it's billed as a 'Members Meeting'
I don't need to be a member of the ACO to buy a ticket for Le Mans. Last edited by johngee; 27 Feb 2014 at 11:19. |

As I see it, Goodwood advertised an exclusive for club members meeting and spent an awful lot of time advertising the fact that the general public could not get in at the Revival and now are saying anyone can come as long as they can afford it.
For the cost of a day ticket there I can have entrance to Le Mans for a week |
