Lee Janotta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
'cause they're damn cheaters out to stuff their tropy cases and wallets at any cost. A perfect match for their #1 driver.

Hasn't changed much since the days of Enzo's politicing.

What Eero said...

It's more of a game played among the teams... An engineer isn't going to gain anymore information from looking over the sholders of crew members at the opponents car than he would watching some TV clips. Still...some people like to do it...

every team gains about as much info as the others by looking at the car on the grid! i thought it really funny when all the other teams crowded around the f2002 at brazil, i got the distinct impression that they did it to "annoy" ferrari more than anything!

that really was funny . Ron Dennis and the Rat were giggling like children , as they knew they were getting right up the noses of Ferrari bosses.

Looking at each others designs has been part and parcel of Formula One since it's inception.

But did you know that nearly every team designer used to visit the Minardi garage when Brunner was designer to see if he had any new bits on his cars?

But no-one complained about that, did they!

F1 True story

Sorry mate - you are totally wrong! They all do it. We have recently seen loads of pictures of every team boss and tech director crowded around the F2002. Have a look at what you've written and think how silly it sounds!

It looks to me like they're tring to sneak a look at the tyre temperature meter reading. Big deal.

I'd have thought that most of this public peeking on thegrid is posturing and wind-ups - they have highly sophisticated devices to analyse the cars on-track, as well as no end of spy pictures that you and I will never see.

i once saw martin brundle interview patrick head down the near the back of the grid a couple of years ago ('99) i think, and the williams were nearer the front of the grid! brundle asked what patrick was doing at the "wrong end" of the grid and he said that he often walked down there as he got lots of little ideas that hadn't been thought of by the big boys!

see, it's not always the minnows copying the top teams, sometimes it works in reverse!

Interestingly it's often been Minardi that the other teams have copied neast ideas from.

But then again, Minardi does a lot of "pinching" itself.

I don't understand this topic. What are they meant to do?? NOT look at each other's cars?????

I think it is very bad, I was there at the time, the Ferrari pitbox was quite far away from Mclaren's one, it is 4 pitboxes and a large stairs to the paddock club away, it is really a wrong end like what Mr. V said. Ordinary tyres spooter is O.K. but definitely no aerodynamist.

dont you think that this whole spy thing is a little pathetic!? there is too much competition these days and it is really annoying that teams are this hostile towards each other.

cant a mechanic look at another car for crist sake! now there will be regulations to where you can look.

(and i support McLaren so dont think im biased towards Ferrari)
